Berklee Blues Guitar Songbook Book/Online Audio (Guitar: Blues Songbook)

Excellent selection of songs with a decent amount of variety. Other reviewers have said that it's challenging. Parts of it are, but I found it to be perfect for my level (I consider myself to be an intermediate player).

I first experienced Michael Williams blues teachings on You Tube and had to get the book. Absolutely great lessons from learning licks, picking attack and timing. Caution: These are not light-weight lessons. From the first song, an open tuning version of Frosty by Al Collins, you better come to play. The backing tracks without the lead are great timing practice. I've been playing for 40 years, and I've learned a lot and have gained renewed inspiration, and I'm only on the first 3 songs. Recommend this book for any experience player looking to elevate their knowledge and technique of blues licks.

This is what i'm looking for since day one, in the text, the notations in this book are described in their academic interval terms such as the minor 3rd, 5th, 6th/13th, etc, instead of telling me which fret on which string, it truly helps me understand the MUSIC better. This book is professional academic and accurate, Tracks are all professionally performed and recorded note for note, i would recommend this book to everyone who's trying to learn to play the blues seriously.

This may be a good buck, BUT not for the beginner

I recommend this book to all of my guitar students! Excellent transcriptions of blues songs in a variety of different styles.
