Rick Steves Germany

We used primarily Rick's advice for help in determining our trip, which ended up being 5 days through Cologne, Rhine River, Rothenberg odTauber and Munich. We supplemented his ratings with minimal outside advice (some from the online travel forum on his page)

We tried several German and European guidebooks. While they were comprehensive, we were lost in the details and the shear quantity of information swamped us. This book gave us specific suggestions that cut to the chase and gave us a place to start. We will still need the other books to branch out, but that will come after we've introduced ourselves to Germany.

We used the book’s suggestions on several eateries and lodging suggestions. I give his lodging suggestions high marks. I give his eating suggestions average grades. I found better recommendations for restaurants from the locals.I really valued Steve’s inputs on what things to see and what things might not be worth it.

It helped a lot with our trip to Germany. Recommend

Rick Steve’s guidebook are the best. I’ve been using his guides for 10+ years and has successfully guided me through 8 European countries.
