keeps my feet from getting waterlogged
I bought this after I was at a hotel overseas where they had a shower with a mat the kept you off the water in the shower. It was great, because my feet tend to get waterlogged and cracked from standing in the water the pools in the shower. I put this in the shower, and take it out after each shower, lean it against the wall on the rug outside the shower. it is great, it works very well. it is not slippery, and I've had it almost a year, and it is still holding up. if it wears out in another year or two I will buy another one. Eight months later: I still love it, some of the finish is wearing off the top, and it's turning gray, but I use it in the shower every day. I still think it's great. I imagine it will hold out another year or so, then I will definitely buy another one.

Love this Floor Mat
This thing is great! It looks great, and I prefer it over the rug we had before. I'm a heavy girl--- and I've had this for months now. Big people don't have to worry about it breaking. It does make some creaking noise at first, but it even did that when my much lighter roommate got on it. After some use, the noise goes away. As for the molding issue--- there's actually an easy fix to that, don't get a bunch of water on it. I usually dry out pretty well in the shIf ower before I step out because I hate having a bunch of water on the floor that I have to mop after my shower. I've never understood why people step out of the shower dripping wet, but to each their own. I also place a small towel on my board to absorb the bit of water I might have dripping off me. So far I haven't had a problem with molding. However, if this is a concern, you could coat it with lacquer to prevent molding, or you could dry it off daily. I haven't done those two things and it's been fine with just drying off before I step out, and the towel on the mat. I also haven't had any issue with it sliding about. The mat stays in place. So-- if you're not one to drown the floor after each shower-- I think you'll find this mat is amazing. And even if you are one to drown the floor, there are things you can do to keep it from molding. Everyone wins.

Mat can handle up to 225 pounds without cracking center wood piece at attachment edges
I purchased one of these mats for camping. I put it outside during the winter so my shoes are elevated in case it rains and water runs down the gravel campsite. I also use it for campground showers. Usually the shower floor is always wet so I bring this along and put it down to get undressed, then lean it up against the wall facing the wall during the shower, and then put it back down to dry myself off. works great and it is light enough to carry to the showers. The problem I had is with its durability for a heavy guy (>275). The center strip is not the same thickness as the sides and is about an 1/8 of a inch higher off the ground than the 4 edge pieces (center strip is thinner than edges). While the center strip has a rubber foot in the center and has the flexibility to allow you to step there, if you step near the center strip where it attaches, it cracks the wood as there is no rubber foot under it and the center piece does not lie flush with the outer 4 edges. My solution: I had to purchase 2 mats and use parts from the first one to reinforce the second mat. I pulled rubber feet off the broken one and added them (along with 1/8" thick wood piece from the hardware store to make them the same thickness as the edges) to the center strip. This braced the center strip on both ends and in the middle. Then I cut the 2 sides off and added them lengthwise between the center strip and the sides. Essentially, the cross boards on the mat are now supported with 3 pieces of bamboo in the center. If I were thinner or just wanted to reinforce the mat, I would have just added rubber feet at the ends of the center board with a 1/8" piece of wood under them so the ends of the center piece would not crack and twist the outer edges upward. EDIT: Just adding the rubber feet at the ends of the center board worked well for a friend of mine. Edit2: While mine is still intact, it is rigid. I'm hoping to try the rollup Nordic Style Teak Shower and Bath String Mat - Heavy-Duty or perhaps the Utoplike (24"x18") Teak Wood Bath Mat. Both are more expensive but might be better without having to redesign it. I think the rollup one will make it easier to carry to the showers.

Two Months from New to Trash
I wanted to wait a bit to write this review because I wanted to see how the mats would hold up. Now, only two months after receiving them, I have my answer and it's not good. (Purchased March 2016/Review May 2016) I purchased two of these mats to use with my hot tub - mainly to have an elevated place to wash off dirty legs/feet before getting in the tub. They are outside in a partially covered place, but they do get the morning sun and are partially exposed to the elements depending on the strength of storms. But for an item made specifically to deal with wet conditions, I am terribly disappointed by how quickly the finish on the mats has deteriorated and how dried out the products are now. They are creaking and cracking and I'm pretty sure one is about to break. They do not get daily use and even when they get used, it is literally for a few seconds as people get in and out of the hot tub. I can't imagine these mats being used daily in a shower by multiple people and last any useful length of time. Ironically I am not having any of the underneath molding issues that some are mentioning in their reviews; I'm guessing since ours do not get wet that often. But they now look cracked and faded and I'm concerned splinters may be the next step. I will likely just trash them shortly before that happens. Extremely disappointing result.

We use these in our bathroom outside of the tub ...
We use these in our bathroom outside of the tub as an alternative to a floor mat. They are extremely well constructed and the cross-boards are supported. They creak the first couple of times that you step on them, but I assume this is just the bamboo settling. I weight 230lbs and they support me without a problem. Each corner has a small, anti-slip (pad), that lifts it maybe 5mm. there is a 1cm gap between the cross-boards and the floor. My only complaint is that the varnish becomes splotchy within the first 2 weeks, but it is very subtle.

NOT perfect.
Pros: Non-slip feet work (it doesn't slip in the shower). Elevates your feet from the shower floor. The size and spacing of the slats allows your feet to be comfortable without slipping on the bamboo surface. Cons: The support slat that runs length-wise on the bottom cracked and split after the second usage. So now one end sags under weight. Eventually it's going to break completely. Also, while it's supposed to dry easily, it has already started accumulating black mold on the end caps, I've had to treat it with bleach to kill the mold. Now I have to remove it from the shower after use to let it drip dry. Inconvenient. Summary: While the price is reasonable (compared to much pricier bamboo shower mats), I can't speak highly of build quality. I'm still using it daily, but when it eventually cracks completely and breaks, I won't buy this particular unit again...I'll find something similar but better built.

Pops and gives but still holds up
As expected from the reviews. Pops and moves when standing on it. Feels as it will break but so far it just gives and no breakage and my son is heavy. So far works. Update: Now, 7 months later...I have been hard on these mats. I bought two for inside the shower, probably not what they were intended but for the price, they lasted for 6 months. They molded and literally fell apart, Just tossed them out. But they did the job for a good 6 months for being in the water, not standing water, just the shower. We do not have a tub and have a fragile plastic bottom of the shower that cracks. So, having these mats, it prevented the bottom of the shower from cracking further. Cannot afford a tub and renovations right now, so these mats do the job and held up under heavy weight. Will probably buy something like these again.

It really is the best out there
I shopped around, tried a cheaper option, read reviews. And I have now had this met for two months, it's PERFECT. It's not slick, that was my main concern. Most of the reviews said it wasn't, but the first review on here said it was...I took the risk and ordered...maybe the first two times I used it, it may have been slightly slick, but not by much and after two or three uses it wasn't at all. Trust me, it's truly not slick, the last think this unemployed student without health care needs is an accident prone bath mat. It's also not sharp as some people stated. Or those people must have delicate callus free feet, but it's comfortable. It takes a bit of getting used to if all you've ever used is a rug, but it's nice. The air flows nicely around it, it dries quickly and the little feet make it stay in place. The only critique I have is it only has one support beam across the bottom and it could stand to have two. After two months if I stand on a part that isn't supported it bends slightly. If there were two pieces under the top boards this wouldn't happen. Otherwise it's great!

Ligero, adecuado y resistente
