I'm sorry, I have no clue. If it helps you at all I can tell you that it smells just about identical to the Young Living "Theives Oil" they carry. I liked it and would buy it again. Hope this helped you in some way.

Q: if I feel a cold coming on, besides using it in a diffuser, how do I use it most effectively?

I used it in a diffuser by my bedside because of realities issues. But I made a roller ball with 5 drops of thieves and top off with a carrier oil. In my case, I used coconut oil. Feel well fast!
