The screws were threaded differently then the handles. The handles had paint in the screw holes so you couldn’t even screw a screw into them.

These look great
The only issue has nothing to do with the handle. My doors are rather thin so I had to find different screws to fit (and even those needed a washer) but I love the look of these and it was a lower profile on the cabinet ... drawer near the floor was the reason I wanted different (lower profile) handles so they wouldn't get caught on the vacuum.
