TendaN300 Wireless Wi-Fi Router with High Power 5dBi Antennas (F3), White

So I bought this as a cheap router to replace my aging Wireless G Lynksys ...Overall I was thrilled with the speed of wireless N but my thrill soon dissapeared when I no longer could use my Roku , Blueray Players , and Chromecast to cast to my devices ..A little research shpwed that the F3 was not capable of Chromecast ..I was pretty upset but it was very cheap and performed well ...I replaced the router with a Netgear router and life was good again..Then I read on a few Amazon reviews that Tenda has a firmware update that enables Chromecast on this device!! I called the 800 number that is listed in the other reviews and the firmware was Emailed to me in a few minutes...Save the file to your computer..Go to your router Administration page ..Go to update firmware ..and direct it to the firmware file they send you ..This firmware was NOT on the website yet as of 4/12/18 ..flashed it and now this router performs as good as any other router ...So now I have a spare .Id give it 5 stars if it shipped with Chromecast already enabled ..but for the LOW price and performance ..This is a great bargain..hoping it lasts a while!!Update : Ive had this router well over a year ..maybe 2 years now and its been trouble free..Streaming multiple Netflix movies , gaming , everything and 2 chromecasts hooked up also...I changed it to 5 stars..GREAT VALUE ..GREAT ROUTER

Router was incredibly easy to install and set up. I use it at a student apartment complex that requires individual MAC registration for each device on their Wifi or Ethernet. After many unsuccessful attempt to register my Xbox's and two laptop's MAC addresses, I said screw it, I'm getting my own Wifi. All I had to do was register this devices MAC address (which thankfully worked) and then I could easily connect all of my other devices.I often stream 1080p video from Youtube and use a computer as a Plex media server to stream content to other devices and I have not encountered a speed issue. In a speed test, my wireless was faster than my apartment complex's wireless, so needless to say, I'm pretty happy for under $20.

I bought one for my apartment a year ago and it is still working great. I am still very happy with it.I just purchased another one for my country house.The Wifi range is great, it works in my 1200 sq ft house as well as several 100 yards away: I tried 300 +yards away up the hill and it still worked. Amazing range for the price!I had difficulties installing it at first but figured it out after a while. A year ago they had a phone number with a live, helpful operator. They now have an answering machine and do NOT return calls. In spite of the installation problems I had and the lack of customer service, I am very happy with the product : the price is unbeatable!

So I knew that I was rolling the dice when I purchased a router at this price point. A little background, I picked this thing up to use along with a Behringer X-Air mixer in a bar environment. When I received it, setup was pretty easy and I was pleased that the unit is reasonably compact and not unattractive. The range of the unit is decent but I do lose connection at times with it only a few feet away. Granted, these interruptions are far more brief than when I was trying to run with just the X-air wireless but I wish they didn't happen at all. Overall, though, this is a solid little router for the price. I don't think I would do any heavy lifting with it, but for a simple, small network, pretty good.

Bought exclusively to move my IOT switches to for security. After programming 18 of my switches, I began having a problem pairing a switch. I changed back to my original wifi network and tried to see if something went wrong with the switch. Worked fine. Now I tried to reconnect my phone to the IOT network (this router), it would not connect. I did a factory reset on the router and programmed the network name and password back the same as it was before. The 18 switches I had already programmed would not reconnect. I began the several hour process again of programming my switches. 2 hours in, and the same problem happened again. 18 devices connected, and no more will connect. Disconnected my phone and programmed switch #19 with no problem, then could not reconnect my phone to this router so cannot attempt to program any more switches. I also tried connecting 3 other devices to this network with no luck. Some even lock up and require a reboot before I can connect to any wifi afterward.

Overall, this router is decent. It's easy to set up and it works fairly well, fast speeds for the cost. But beware, you cannot cast with it at all, and even the customer service there acknowledged that after trying various different settings. I even spoke with Google, and they tried everything they could. I now use a Roku for streaming, but I can't use the casting function. I don't know why this is, but just be aware of that if you buy it.

I choose this one just because it has a lower price compared with other devices with the same features. And I have used it for several months and this device is actually beyond my expectation! This lovely device is really easy to install that I installed it in less than five minutes. The Internet coming from this device is really fluent and strong so that I could watch videos with my phone in the kitchen which is 20 feet from this device. Great product! Excellent price!
