Snapleash Hands Free Double Clip Training Dog Leash

When people ask or comment about the leash I immediately launch into an explanation of why I love this leash. It's so versatile and allows you to do all sorts of manipulations without unfastening your dog. In warm weather we love to take our dogs with us to pet-friendly patios and this is the perfect leash because you can fasten it around your chair arm or the center of the table in a flash. With so many grommets you can shorten the length so your dog can't bother people at nearby tables. Because you can fasten the leash anywhere, you can shorten it and fasten it higher up, making it difficult for your dog to get all tangled up.I've also fastened the leash like I was wearing a cross-body bag, only with a naughty dog at the other end instead of a purse or bag. The length is perfect to allow her to walk freely, but stay within inches of me so she couldn't get into further trouble. (She is getting better!)After almost a year of everyday use this fantastic leash is still going strong. As soon as I knew we were going to adopt another dog, my first purchase was another SnapLeash.

This thing is awesome! I use it to take a big lab over to the park every day and it solves a number of issues. I loop it around my bike on the ride over to prevent unexpected lunges or getting pulled off, and I can snap it around any tree, post, or bench. I read a couple of reviews about grommets but it looks like they've solved whatever that was with the current leash. The leash I have has had months of BIG dog abuse without any issues and looks almost new. This is the one leash I would buy before any other. Highest rec.Update: Have had this for months now and still - a bit dirty - but fantastic. 5 stars.

The idea is awesome and makes for an extremely convenient leash design. Were that where it ended, I'd give the product five stars instead of three. Unfortunately, the fatal flaw is the grommets. Because, within a year of use the top grommet (used for the hand loop) had been bent and torqued enough that one big tug from our dog pulled it entirely free from the leash fabric. And the leash shouldn't have been overstressed, because we were using the 1" leash on a 40lb border collie mix. But when you take look at the construction, the grommet is a relatively thin, stamped metal. And we noticed dents and bending in all the grommets we hooked into fairly early on, so it wasn't exactly a surprise when the most used grommet finally gave.Accepting the flaw, I still plan on buying another of the same leash. I don't look forward to replacing one of these every year, but we do quite a bit of walking around town and this design makes it very convenient to leash our dog up to whatever is available when we stop to go into a store or restaurant. I just wish I could pay a bit more and get a sturdier leash with the same basic design.

I feel compelled to edit my original review below. I gave the leash only 3 stars because the gromets tore out after two months. My intent was to let the vendor know that the product could use a few tweaks.Sara, the vendor, emailed me twice, offering a new leash! Never had a vendor freely offer a replacement simply for an average review. It is evident that Sara cares about her customers and it turns out I should have ordered the larger leash anyway. Thanks Snappy Pet Products for your great customer service!Original Review: The idea is great, but I've used it about 2 months and one of the grommets has already pulled out. The others are still in though. I'd recommend it regardless.

I bought these in all three colors 4 years ago. I use one leash for 2 dogs, since it has a clip on both ends. When I only have one dog with me, I either clip one end into the first grommet (as pictured in the display picture), creating a normal leash handle, or I wrap it around my waist for hands-free walking. I came back to this leash today (4 years later) hoping for more colors, such as green, purple, orange, etc., because I like to match leashes to my dog's collars and I just got a new purple collar. I'm a little bummed to see that after 4 years, there are still no new colors. Regardless of the limited colors, I still highly recommend this leash.

As described in the listing, just much heavier than I expected. I bought this to replace a leash with an adjustable handle (meaning you could easily secure the dog to a post or leg or whatever. Loved the old leash until the puppy decided to eat it. Thought this provided the same functionality but I did not plan on it being so heavy. My 9 lb dog hates it and I didn't even try it on the smaller puppy. I gave this to my daughter for her big guy. She swears it was snapped securely but he managed to rug it free and she found him running her way with the leash trailing behind. He is all muscle spaniel/Rottweiler mix so strong. I would recommend use by 20 pound dog. Big enough that weight of leash isn't an issue and small enough to not be able to un-snap.

I have been through many leashes and this one is by far my favorite. It's so versatile with the double sided clip and clip holes. I can quickly and easily tether my dogs while I run an errand. No fussing with knots. I can shorten the leash as I train my puppy on walks by clipping the end further down the leash. I can go hands free on walks and clip the leash to my pants or around my waist. I can even combine two leashes for an extra long lead to work on recalls with my puppies. I won't use anything else. I hope SnapLeash keeps making these forever!

I love these leashes. They are light and so easy to use in multiple ways. With clips and both ends and multiple grommets along the length of the leash, it can easily be adjusted from approximately 4 to 6 feet. I also love it because I can attach one end to my dog and then wrap the other end around a tree, table leg, or whatever I’m sitting near. My dog is secure and my hands are free to do other things. I’ve purchased several of these over the years and keep coming back for more!
