I needed a replacement ice maker for my Maytag side by side. Saw this one on Amazon and figured for the price, I'd give it a try. The installation instructions that come with it are not super detailed, but they were straightforward and were enough for me to get the job done. Start to finish, the job only took 15 minutes at the most. It was making ice in around an hour. I did try to raise the bale wire, which is what makes it stop making ice, and the wire would not stay in the upright position. I finally figured out that the wire was not properly installed. The attached picture shows where the front most part of the wire was when I received the ice maker. The bale wire needs to be inserted into the round, white notch circled in the picture. The installation instructions do not mention this. Other than that I have no issues with this unit.

Nice ice maker. Looks just like my original. Used the wire connection from the old ice maker and the spring clip that holds it. Worked great. Full tray of clean ice in a day and a half. It did NOT arrive on time but that was Amazon's fault as they fulfilled the order. Amazon ain't what it used to be. Walmart is coming on strong!

If you missed your ice maker as much as I did you will find this replacement unit a great choice. Obviously check your refrigerator model number before ordering! Installed in less than 30 minutes with first 15 trying to remove the freezer drawer. The first tray takes time until the freezer gets up to temperature there after the ice falls freely. I’m not an appliance repair person but trust me if you can use a screwdriver you can fix this yourself!

NOT a good description... Had to return the unit... wiring harness was NOT included - The Ice maker was exactly the same, but the connector on the maker was different - couldn't reuse the old harness. Unit was returned.

We have a 22 year old refrigerator this part went into. It's now our overflow garage refrigerator. The original ice maker lasted for 18 years. We replaced it with a new one 4 years ago and it didn't last long. Hopefully, this one lasts longer. The price point for the replacement was economical.

Matched my old ice makers design and dimensions. I used the old ice makers bottom mounting bracket and cable (does not come with cable), and snapped out the plastic piece for the water inlet tube. Its now putting out ice like crazy!

The replacement ice maker was easy to install, makes ice very well. Not sure how long it will last as it is made mostly of plastic, while the old one was metal.

The on and off bar is too short to shut off once’s ice maker is full……wrong size for the refrigerator
