Sandor Konya Sings Puccini

The sound on this CD is awful. It was obviously recorded by someone sitting in the audience during performances. In fact, when an aria or duet is finished, you can hear the person recording the performance shout "Bravo" more clearly than you can hear the performance since the mic is obviously in his lap. You can also hear the guy conversing with the guy next to him. Nowhere in the description does it make clear that these are bootleg recordings. they are not commercial recordings and while you can "hear" the singers and make out the opera itself, it is a terrible recording. The CD is a joke and I am returning it after listening to only 2 tracks.

Very good live recording, great tenor.

This release sounds for the most part like very poorly recorded live performances

Das hat dieser großartige Sänger nicht verdient, und Puccini ebensowenig. Die Aufnahmen - vor allem die TOSCA -klingen, als hätte ein ahnungsloser Zuschauer einen Recorder aus der fünften Reihe in Richtung Bühne gehalten undden Aufnahmeknopf gedrückt. Da war in den fünfziger Jahren doch schon weit bessere Qualität möglich, auch vonKonya gibt es zum Glück Besseres (Deutsche Grammophon).

...hat's gefallen, sie war früher begeistert von Sandor Konya. Die Aufnahmen entstammen wohl mehrheitlich dem Ende der 60er Jahre, so dass sie ein wenig Mühe hatte, "Ihren" Sandor Konya wiederzuerkennen.
