You can wiggle it and pull all you like but it won't open unless you know the secret. Just put it on the table and give it smooth spin and the locking mechanism unlatches allowing the lid to be removed. Inside are 4 brass pins and no matter which way the box is turned there are always enough pins locking the lid in place . Just a half spin of the wrist is all it takes for the centripetal force to throw the pins to the outside and unlock the lid. It looks like magic when its put on the table and spun and the lid suddenly slides off with ease! It measures 4 inches in all directions This box is built very rugged and guaranteed to last. VERY COOL
A little pricy as I wish for this price I could get it in another wood. Only reason for 4 star.Other than that it works great! Fun to give as a present with a treat or money inside and let them figure out how to get inside.

Great idea well executed.
If you want to drive a kid crazy, give him his birthday present in this box. It is well made and a really clever idea. It took my 9-year old a good part of the day but he eventually got it.

Excellent Craftsmanship
I currently work at an escape room, and this is one of the more popular puzzles we currently use. Very sturdy and definitely a difficult puzzle to accidently solve!

Love the box
Love the box. Only complaint is that it doesnt really open or work in high humidity because the wood swells a little.
