I wear glasses and they work good with the magnifier.

What type of batteries are used ?

They do not use batteries but have a built in battery system, they are charged using a USB port. Takes a while to charge so I purchased 2. One to use and one on charge.

can this headgear be worn with eyeglasses?

A little cumbersome, but it will work with eyeglasses...
