A very good expansion
I am quite happy with this expansion. Sure, yes, the misprints are annoying but they DO NOT brake the gane in anyway. Moreover, previous expansion haven't been immune to having those in varying degrees either. Each and every time that has happened, Ravensburger has been swift and quick to solve those. On to the Villains! If you read all the reviews you may get the impression that the Villain design for this one is bad or so-so. That is not the case. Hear me out! The love or hate each of the new Villains receive is all over the place. Many decry Gaston and then you'll find those that love him. Same for Lady Tremaine and the Horned King.Is not that their designs are bad, or so-so, or even absolutely good. You will need to become for familiar with their deck and strategies. Each time you play them, you'll definitely enjoy them more as you familiarize yourself with their strategies. Why do I say this? Because I have seen earlier adopters change their tune once they have had time playing with them and realize that their design is well done, it just requires strategizing more. Gaston has fo wait to make big swing moves, Lady Tremaine has unprecedented control over the fate deck and can proactively avoid getting swamped, and the Horned King can set play up in a way that becomes inevitable he wins. It is the same learning curve as always.Gaston: the obstacles he needs to remove to win Belle's heart can feel nit very thematic, but they certainly represent an abstraction of Belle falling for Gaston instead. All the cards play into this idea: things the Beast do wrong favor Gaston while things that Gaston gets wrong make Belle's affection return to the Beast. It is pretty flavorful.Lady Tremaine: you get to feel like Lady Tremaine pulling the strings, controlling whatever happens in her house, feel the usual menace she displays but in your favor. You will lock heroes, you will stack the Fate deck in your favour. She is pretty fun to play as and quite thematic. Her gameplay is a love letter to the original Cinderella movie.Horned King: it is a fun game of tug of war, and the heroes can very be easily dealt with. His Fate cards are very flavourful and funny (yet frustrating when you are on the receiving end of them). His move piece is amazing. His Black Cauldron tile is lovely. His is never without compelling game option. He does require patience and a steady-hand, expecially when compared with the other whose gameplay feel more frenetic. This is my opinion: I strongly think this expansion is very much worthwhile. These villains offer a challenge (a very good and satisfying one), but they are always fun. This is a great addition to the lineup. Here is to more expansion in the near future.

Best expansion yet - high quality, great new twists on the winning formula.
Another great addition - possibly the best - to this fun asymmetrical card game. All 3 new villains bring a refreshing new bit of strategy to this game. This expansion seems to keep focus on developing new ways to win and new interactions between fate and villain decks.Lady Tremaine, for instance, has a very simple goal that requires just playing a few key cards (like Ursula). How her fate deck screws that up and the fact Cinderella doesn’t just disappear but rather her glass slippers remain and still screw things up is really great. You feel like you’re close to victory but it can easily slip away in a manner that isn’t impossible to overcome.Gaston is a little frustrating, similar to Scar or Cruella in that he needs to accomplish a lot using a lot of power but the fate deck just easily undoes all that work effortlessly. He starts very slow but can really win quick towards the end with the right cards. Defeating the Beast and Maurice is a key aid for him, and I like how those thematic elements are tied in.Horned king has an interesting cauldron mechanic, but we found him to be our least favorite (which we expected). He’s down there with Rattigan and Yzma for us, just not one we particularly enjoy. The plastic movers are larger and better quality than any others I think - very sturdy and in the case of pretty much all 3, huge! The quality is the best of any expansion materials-wise.No doubt if you like the base game or any other expansion in this series you’ll enjoy this one. I’d say it is our favorite expansion, closely tied with the one that added Evil Queen and Hades. I guess that’s a nice thing about a game like this - you know with each new release what you’re getting and that they will be worthwhile. Here’s hoping they print at least one more expansion, but I feel they have now hit the most important villains in the Disney universe and stopping here wouldn’t bother me. Having Gaston and Lady Tremaine makes this collection feel complete!

High quality really fun game
I have Villainous and every expansion available to date as well as Marvel Villainous! I love this game! It does take some time to learn and you have to pay close attention to the other players, but it is so fun to be the villain once in a while. 😈There is no need for a base game. Every expansion can stand alone. The games are all super easy to mix as each villain plays in thier own realm. The only one that cannot be played with the other games is Marvel. It's a completely different game built on a similar concept. The game pieces are really high quality, which is no surprise if Disney put this name on it.Each villain has thier own objective to achieve in thier own realm. But it isn't just a race to the finish. The fate token gives you the chance to thwart the other villain's evil plans and slow them down so you can complete your own nefarious goals.

A really good game. Just wish I could win against my partner
Introduces a few new mechanics that spice up the game when compared to the base game. It's a fun and ingenious design... just wish I was good enough at this game to win against my partner.
