This item is sooo cool. Beats the cone! My dog was just spay + stomach stapling...
This item really fits the bill. I like it a lot. More importantly, my dog seems to like it even more. My puppy is a German Shepherd 41 lbs and 5 months old. The large fits her well. The 4 strings on back part must be crossed tied for it to hold well. My dog is also able to do her "business"( 1and 2 ) without it being removed. It can stay on for good. See my pics. Sorry for the "indecent angles" as I want to show that it can stay on to allow your dog to do his or her business. Want to see a video of it ? Look up my dog up in YouTube. Search for: Kara Batilo SpaySo far so good. My dog is leaving the incision alone! I immediately removed the cone and put this item on. Hope this info help you out.

Versatile Design, Well Constructed, Amazing Customer Service
My 12 pound female medium poodle had emergency surgery. Found out she has terminal cancer. She was cut the length of her abdomen. The E cone provided had to be doubled to fit her tiny neck (making it extremely heavy) and too long to fit her long snout, she couldn’t drink with it. The dog was in pain snd the collar was not workable. I went on Amazon and found this product and paid $3.99 for overnight delivery, at 9 pm the next evening I received an Amazon status that it MAY be delivered in 3 days! Somehow I found a customer service telephone number for this company and left a message detailing the struggles my dog was having. At 10pm that night the owner of the company himself, calls my home. He was very concerned that the product didn’t arrive and assured me I would receive it the next day. He personally sent me status emails throughout the day, up to the time of delivery. Additionally, I am so pleased with this product. It is very well constructed, fabric is light and breathable, legs holes are expandable cotton gathered fabric. The strings are generous in length and can be cut to size. It takes about 2 minutes to tie the strings into a bow, but it’s worth it as I could make the garmet fit her body perfectly. It made her so comfortable. Just when Bella came out of the garment, our male dog, Bocce, had emergency surgery! (When it rains it pours!) He’s 21 pounds, shorter than Bella and very muscular. Unfortunately, he came home with a drain coming out of his side. The garment allowed me to place small pads inside and on his back, where he was also stiched, the ties allowed me to cinch the garment enough to hold them in place. With fur coats, the opening/ ties on the back also kept both dogs cool. I’m so glad I chose this product. Thank you!

10 stars!!
The media could not be loaded. I am so happy I bought this!I always have bought my cats cones until I saw this! My youngest kitty licked all the skin off of her stomach due to allergies. This particular cat WILL NOT use a cone. She is a spoiled princess. When I saw this recommended to me I had never seen anything like this, even when she got fixed I had to wrap her up (which is a total nightmare). I had to give it a chance and I am incredibly thankful I did.I even tried making a cat sweater at home with no success. This suit is so perfectly designed for animals that I just couldn't replicate it.My poor baby had to wear it for 5 weeks because we kept taking it off too early and she would re-open her wounds.Let the wound, scabs and ALL the fur grow back and heel before leaving it off.We kept a close eye on her when we took it off to wash it. It goes right in the washer and dryer without any problems or shrinkage.Even though she had it on for SO LONG, she was comfortable. She can walk, use the bathroom and even go up and down stairs without a problem. The little arm sleeves are genius. It keeps the sweater in place and kept her from wiggling out of it.I purchased size medium. She is a larger cat.Even though it seems safe and we used it without a problem. Strings and loops around your cat can be a hazard. PLEASE keep a close eye on your animal and don't leave them unattended for too long.

Fabulous !!
I can't say enough about this product ! I currently have a 30 lb and growing golden doodle who was just spayed. I HATE E- collars and think they compound the recovery situation so I took a chance on getting this. I am so happy I did ! My dog was totally comfortable wearing it for 5 days. She was able to move freely and do her "business" without a problem. In fact, by day 4 she was jumping the dog gate indicating to me she was healing fine. Not once, did she ever try to remove it or bite the incision site. She totally ignored it ! I did not need to use the included kotex type liner and on day 3 I peeked at the incision. NO redness, swelling or infection. It was wonderful ! I took it off on day 5 just to see if she would notice the incision but she didn't, so I have left it off. I inspected it after she wore it for 5 straight days and nothing was soiled ! No stains anywhere ! How awesome is that ? I bought a size Med/large and it was a tad small but it worked just fine since the fabric stretches with the dog. If I had to do it again I would get a large because she is such a long puppy and all legs. By the way, picture number 1 is the day of surgery.

Good alternative for dogs that can't/won't wear e-collars.
I purchased an XXL for my almost 70lb. GSD after she underwent surgery to have mammory masses removed. She has gotten her e-collar off in the past, and it tends to irritate the skin on her face because of drooling and it retaining that moisture. In addition, she is in a multi-dog household. While the e-collars prevent her from licking her stitches, they do not prevent the other dogs from doing so. Our vet actually recommended we try using an old t-shirt, but because the incision was about 10" long and went all the way back between her legs it wasn't totally effective.Overall, this little half-shirt worked pretty well. It's very lightweight (comparable to a thin t-shirt). Someone else mentioned crossing the ties to help keep them from falling off. We actually tied the ones closest to her rear a little looser, which gave her droopy drawers but prevented the material from getting in the way when she went outside. It has been through the washer and dryer and has held up so far. One pair of ties did either break off or got chewed off (I found the pieces on the floor), but there were enough remaining straps that it wasn't an issue.

quality could be better
I'm assuming that this outfit is comfortable - my dog is not complaining as much as she did as when she had a cone on her after her spay. The problem is, and this might just be my unique situation, that our 6 month old, 50 lbs, sheppard/retriever cross who does not understand what it means to slow down has either poked holes into the material after 2 days, or has managed to separate the seams after 3 days. The poked holes I understand as it's a dog with sharp teeth.Having said this, one of the best things about this outfit is that with a female dog, she can be taken out to do her business without having to remove the outfit. Between that and the fact her spacial awareness is so much better without a cone on, it has been a great overall purchase. The next "strange" side is that the sizing is not very standard. Our dog is a medium harness wearer (with the straps tightened as small as possible), a medium sized collar, but for this outfit - you HAVE to measure the dog (we were lucky we did) as she wears a large. So we're at an impasse now as we will either have to go out and purchase a 2nd outfit to get her through the 10 days of recovery, or we may need to go back to the cone for the 2nd have of her recovery.

Great product. Ordered 3 lol
My dog had abdominal surgery after being hit by a car. Because of the location of the injury she needed something to cover both her abdomen and the inside of her thigh which was an akward place. The vets couldnt really figure out how to keep it covered with what they had so they fashioned something with a tshirt. It was not great. I came on Amazon and found this gown which was exactly what we needed. Shes 45 pounds and medium sized. I got her a large which fits well. Ive also just order an XL because the one thing with the one I have is, its ALMOST perfect, but if she lifts her leg while lying down some of her wound on her abdomen is visable and she is able to lick it. Im hoping its just a sizing thing but it may be a design problem so while im waiting for the other size I have only been putting this on her during the day when I keep an eye on her but regardless, It does serve its purpose especially since she can have her wound covered while going pee and poo. I dont know if I would get this if she were male as you have to take off the legs for them to go exposing that area to the elements but I dont know if that unavoidable with a male dog so I cant say for sure. Shes very comfortable in it, its relatively easy to take on and off and I washed it in my washer on delicate with cold water and it held up fine, hung to dry after. It is thin material so take care when washing and handling but its very breathable. Great for healing and the vets love it. I got the teal colour as it really does look like a hospital gown. I figured this would hopefully signal to pedestrians and other dog owners on our walks to be careful around her.

Fell apart after 3days, annonying.
It's a pain in the bun!! Doesn't hold well around the butt so you have to find your own junk protecting pattern...Everytime your dog need to go..., you have to undo that ingenious pattern you created to make sure your dog doesn't eat his organs... And start over 1 minute later. After 3 days, straps started breaking down... I could no longer trust this product enough to leave my dog without surveillance... So i immediately ordered a different product and tossed this one.

Great product, but too many strings
This product is a great because it is like a hospital gown for dogs. I bought it for my puppy's neuter surgery. He's a 10 month old Boxer (He's 62 lbs, I bought him the green gown in XXL). So far, it has prevented him from licking and scratching his stitches. My only complaint is that there are many strings to tie and sometimes they slip down his back and the gown begins to slip off. Criss-crossing the strings definitely helps, but the gown still tends to slip. It would have been much easier if the gown was secured using long pieces of Velcro.

Great idea!
I got this for my Great Pyrenees x Newfie for when he got neutered. What a great investment. There was no massive lamp shade cone to worry about and he was way more comfortable. It was easy to put on him and easy to flip up when he had to go out. I had quite a few people comment on it. I wanted to give it 5 stars but when I washed it every single one of the tie strings began to unravel.I don’t know if it could hold up to any more washes without the ties being sewn on the ends. I was a little shocked. That being said I still think it’s worth it.Ignore my pups face in the picture he agrees it’s better than a cone.
