Protection where it counts
We needed the cup for sparring in Taekwondo. First off, the cup itself is soft and flexible around the edges, which is a good thing. However, the cup itself is narrow compared to the Shock Doctor Ultra Carbon Flex cup that I also purchased. If you boy's waist is more than 26", it may not fit for children who need the large briefs. It was too small for my skinny 9yr old son, which caused the cup to push out and away from his body when worn. In addition, the briefs themselves run small. I used the size chart provided on the Shock Doctor website to make sure I got the right size and they were still too small. The problem wasnt that they were all over tight because they should be a little. The problem was they did not cover his butt and the waist band (very wide) was too tight. It looked like he was wearing two sizes too small. So I ordered my 9 yr old the teen ultra carbon cup with jock strap from Shock Doctor to wear under his own briefs. He is happy now. Good Luck on your quest for protection.

Good product, runs a bit small
I purchased the Regular Peewee for my son who is 6 for baseball. He is 47 lbs and 48 inches tall, a tall and thin build. He usually wears a size 4 or 5 boys' brief. These briefs fit him very well until I washed them (granted I did wash them on warm and dried on medium). They still fit, but seem a bit on the snug side. He has not complained about the fit at all, however, so they should be okay for this season. If your child has an average waist for their age, you might want to buy a size up. The briefs seem like they are well-made and will provide adequate protection.

I did way more research in looking for a cup that was the right size and comfortable. Never having worn one before he didn't nee
My son, 8, was required to wear a cup this year for baseball. He was also required to wear slider shorts. The slider shorts I bought were a small, my son is skinny, normally wears a size 8 slim in jeans. The slider shorts came with a cup, but it was HUGE. I did way more research in looking for a cup that was the right size and comfortable. Never having worn one before he didn't need to be fidgeting with it the whole time. This one was just right. The briefs however are too small, but it didn't matter because he puts the cup in his slider shorts.

Protection Where Ya Need It
My 5yr old says it fits well and he doesn't notice wearing it. Assuming the protection is good, you can't get better feedback from a wearer. One thing I couldn't find was sizing so I got lucky and ordered a Peewee Reg for him. The packaging had better guidance than on Amazon or Shock Dr websites: waist size in inches Peewee Reg 18-22", Peewee Lrg 22-26", Youth Reg 22-26" (no indication why this is diff from Peewee Lrg), Youth Lrg 26-30", Teen Reg 26-30", and Teen Lrg 30-34". Good luck!

Make sure you compare your boys size to other buyers so you know which size to order
I read the reviews before I places my order and I am glad I did! Both of my boys are a size 7 and weigh around 52lbs so I ordered this in the large. My older son is tall and very slim so he wears the size 7 for his height. My younger is shorter and stockier so he wears the 7 for his waist size. I am just describing their body styles so you have a basis for comparison when ordering for your own son. They definetly won't be able to use these again next season but the briefs are perfectly snug as they should be to prevent any shifting and pinching. I will order this brand again just have to move out of the peewee sizing for next year.

good protection
I have twin boys who are seven years old. I bought one peewee size and the other one the boys small, thinking they would be a little bigger. The briefs are the same size in the waist and the only difference is that the cup is larger on the boys small. Unless your boy is well endowed the peewee size is a very good size. My boys are on the thinner side. If you have huskier boys I would go with the next size up.

Support cup is great but the brief is too tight!
My son is 7 and an average size. The cup fit great but he was terribly uncomfortable in the brief. He tugged on it the entire time he wore it. Unfortunately, I returned this & purchased the compression short. The problem is that now the new cup is too wide. I wish I had just kept this for the support cup & put it in the compression short.

Okay...product has holes in it after two baseball seasons in a row
After only a spring and fall season the item has holes in it at the waist band. I felt it should've lasted a little longer, but it logistically worked well. I'm just disappointed that it's torn. I'll try to sew it and get another season out of it but for the price I felt I would've gotten a longer lasting product

We ordered the Youth Large and he is very happy with it
Fits well on my 9 year old son who is tall and slim, about 80lbs . We ordered the Youth Large and he is very happy with it. The cup has a solid shell, with a silicone flexible edge that makes it fairly comfortable to wear. I would order again.
