bad video quality, returned it
This was my first venture into experimenting with a dashcam. Decided to try the DVR135W as it was on sale at Fry's. It comes with a USB cable, cig lighter car adapter with a fairly long cord (so you can route it without having to do a straight shot), suction cup mount and of course the camera. The good. I liked the size and ease of use of the menus. It's very straightforward to use. It will automatically start recording when power is applied to it via the USB connection (mini-B), unless it's connected to a computer then it becomes a disk drive (although that is configurable in a menu to do something else). The suction cup mount stuck to my windshield and wouldn't let go easily. I was able to adjust the camera right where I wanted it.It will accept up to a 32GB microSD card, I used an old SDSDQM-032G card I had. I never filled up the card so not sure how the rollaround feature works, but apparently at some point it will erase old recordings and overwrite with new. The menus allow you to set the record time increments. I had it set at 10 min so never saw how it went from one file to the next (it will record for that long, then start a new file) as my work commute is only 5 min. It creates .AVI files. Now for the bad. The video quality stinks. 1080P and 720P were very grainy, could barely make out the letters on a stop sign. VGA mode was alright though. The FPS was adequate for all 3 settings. The microphone seemed alright, my old truck is kinda noisy anyways with wind noise and it picked up on all of it. Whatever you are listening to on the radio will be the soundtrack for your video (kinda funny for me as I listen to a classical radio station while driving, when watching the video the music made it seem more dramatic than it was). Battery life is very short, maybe 20 minutes. It definitely needs to be connected to a power source. There is also nothing on the DP Audio Video website about this camera. Nothing at all. So support for this thing is probably minimal if existent at all. After messing with it for 5 days took it back. Could be it was just my unit, we'll see what other reviewers say. Had the video quality been better I would have been happy with it. I guess it's better than nothing, but I'd rather have something that records better quality video.

didn't work
I bought this at Fry's because it was on sale, but I couldn't get it to work. The only button that worked was the power button, which turned it on an off and also turned the night vision on and off. It started recording when it turned on, but that's all it would do. The other buttons didn't do anything like the instructions said they were supposed to. I couldn't get to the menu to set any options, including the date and time, and I couldn't get it to change modes or stop recording. I'm returning it.

Poor video with a bad defect of rebooting repeatedly after about 2+ hrs fo video.
The media could not be loaded. This DVR is absolute garbage. The 1080P resolution and 720P is very grainy and no better than a $15 no name China brand you can get on ebay or Amazon. These units have a strange defect. I bought this at Frys and put in a 16GB class 10 card and the unit would shut on and off repeatedly after 10 GB of space and wouldn't stop unless you format the micro sd card. I then tried another 16GB and 32GB card and it did the same exact thing, so I exchanged the unit and this one is doing THE SAME EXACT THING and only works with a 8GB class 6 sd card which fills up in 1 hr, so there goes the supports 32GB claim. The rebooting will go until the battery dies of you force off power.DPaudiovideo's website doesn't show any sort of car DVR's on it, so its not like you can do a firmware update or something or know anything about the product. Do yourself a favor and spend $50 on the GW1 DVR's and they have pretty good reviews. To make it worse this product claims to have a 1 year warranty, but after 90 days you have to pay to ship it to them and then PAY THEM for labor for THEIR defective product, at that point, you might as well just buy another DVR as shipping and labor will more than likely be money you have put towards a better product.

If this was $3 it would still cost too much.
The media could not be loaded. I did not buy this camera from Amazon, rather from another retailer. However, this is a great place to help my fellow consumers. DO NOT buy this camera. It does not focus, the results are blurry unless someone you have an accident with will help you by removing their license plate and walking up to your car with it, and holding it just above the hood ornament so you can get the only focused content it will do.Absolute junk, and no one to contact at the factory. I went to their website, asked for clearer instructions (the manual is translated to English very poorly) and did not hear back from them for almost 2 months. I got an email with copy/paste instructions from their website.Duh.Oh, and the sound? Ha!
