Description Weight Management Metabolic Support Non-GMO A Dietary Supplement Vegetarian/Vegan How It Works: MCTs (Medium-Chain Triglycerides) are fats that are metabolized differently than most dietary fats. Unlike longer chain triglycerides, MCTs require little or no enzymatic breakdown and are easily absorbed across the wall of the small intestine and delivered straight to the liver where they can be used directly for energy production (instead of being stored as fat). In essence, they act similar to carbohydrates, but without the requirement of insulin and with no affect on blood sugar. Studies have demonstrated that MCT Oil consumption along with a healthy diet can help to maintain a healthy body weight, while sparing lean tissue.

Don't Buy It
I was so happy to find MCT oil in a glass bottle!!!! My family uses MCT oil everyday, and I thought this product provided both an environmentally sound packaging with a great product; however, I did not realize that this company uses Palm Kernel Oil which is both ecologically detrimental and unhealthy to consume. What a bummer!!!! For some reason I thought I read in their literature that they used 100% coconut, but that is NOT the case.

Dr. recommended.
I was introduced to Protocol MCT oil by my Functional Physician, whom I trust very much. It comes in a glass bottle, it is always double sealed. I use it in my morning coffee and it has never had an unpleasant tast. I cannot comment on it's specific effectiveness as it is part of an entire diet focused on optimal health, but I do believe it is a very valuable part of that diet, and my health. Eat well, sleep well, exercise well. Be well, happy, and peaceful!

No taste; heavy glass jar
No taste. Already increased my metabolism after only a week of use. Only negative is how heavy the glass jar is. Difficult to lift with one hand and pour into a spoon for consumption. I lose a lot of product; dripping down the side of the jar.

The Protocol MCT oil is sold in amber, glass bottles. Most of the MCT oils are in plastic bottles and I'm trying to avoid the chemicals in plastics like the phthalates (butyl benzyl phthalate (BBzP), dibutyl phthalate (DnBP), di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), di-butyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl butyl. These chemicals seem to be everywhere and have been documented for negative health affects. To me, it's worth paying more for the glass bottle.
