Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War (Xbox Series X)

This is a next gen title you should avoid. The server tick rate is awful, FPS drops are frequent (every time you ADS) and the game is always crashing my Xbox series X to the point of a full restart.

It MIGHT be a good game... if only I could try it. Put the disc in and waited several hours for it to install (digital download will be worse) then after installing you cannot play until a massive 8 hour download. Why other games allow you to play while it is updating? Why force a Warzone download even though I have no intention of playing it?Completely spoilt my enthusiasm for the game.

I won't bother talking about the single-player game. It's COD so it's short, and not why you buy it. Sadly the multiplayer experience is pretty awful. Your individual performance is largely irrelevant. It will be the ping time, whether you have any silly kids running around at ridiculous speeds, jumping and quick-scoping with sniper rifles or somehow killing you with double sawn-off shotguns from distance even though you (appear to have) emptied half a clip of LMG ammo into them. If you're playing on a console, you have to turn off Crossplay because the experience playing against those on PCs (even if they aren't using aimbots and transparent walls) is so imbalanced, then you're faced with fewer games to join, longer ping times and more awful experiences beyond your control. Oh, and the raytracing on a Series X is glitchy so you'll have to turn that off too. A message to the developers and publishers: I know you don't care about the cheating and the silly antics your design permits. You've had decades to eradicate such behaviour in various iterations of COD and have chosen not to. That's your decision. Mine is to not give you any more of my money.

Didn't buy straight away as heard so many negatives, but decided to take the plunge and I don't regret a thing! It's different to MW, faster, a little more arcade feeling which is great fun and amazing graphics.I've played alot on multi-player and like the maps and gameplay. Just started zombies and I'm awful but its still addictive

The most outrageous file size to content ratio I've ever seen. Put the disc in and it'll demand the game downloads its update, HD assets etc from online servers... totalling 238 gigabytes. And then the campaign, enjoyable as it is, is barely 4 hours long if I recall correctly.
