Convenient, well made, light to carry, but there's a tradeoff between durability and weight
I find this really handy when doing yard work, working in garage, wherever a stool might be convenient. I'm pretty careful with it - I expect it'll break if I put uneven weight on it or set it up on a slope.

Surprisingly Useful for Fishing Trips (and More!), But Handle with Care
I recently picked up the Boreeman Upgraded Folding Stool specifically for my fishing adventures, thinking it would be the perfect lightweight and portable seating solution for both boat trips and jetty fishing. Overall, I'm quite pleased with its core functionality, though there are a few things potential buyers should keep in mind, echoing some experiences I've seen from others. The first thing that impressed me was just how lightweight and portable this stool truly is. Collapsing down to a mere 2.5 inches, it easily slips into my tackle bag or can be comfortably carried using the integrated nylon-web handle or the handy, storable shoulder strap. This makes it an absolute winner for anyone who prioritizes packability for activities like camping, hiking, or, in my case, fishing and BBQing.Setting it up is generally easy and quick. The "accordion" style opening using the finger holes is intuitive, and I appreciate the slight twist that locks it securely at the desired height. Being able to adjust it to intermediate heights is a nice feature, offering flexibility beyond the standard full extension of about 17.75 inches, which is a comfortable sitting height for me. The nearly 10-inch diameter seat feels perfectly adequate for my needs and doesn't feel restrictive. The advertised 400lbs load capacity gives me a significant sense of security, especially when using it on a boat where balance can sometimes be a factor. It certainly appears to be sturdily made and, as advertised, it does feel more robust than some other lightweight folding stools I've seen. The availability in a wide variety of colors is also a nice touch. However, mirroring some feedback from other users, the durability does seem to be a point to monitor. While it feels solid initially, some have reported issues with it falling apart upon breaking. I haven't encountered this myself yet, but it's a concern I'll definitely keep in mind with continued use.The ease of opening and closing is also something where experiences seem to vary. Personally, I found the accordion mechanism and the twist-to-lock system relatively straightforward to operate after a couple of tries. However, I can see how some might find it a bit fiddly at first, so be prepared for a potential learning curve. Finally, the manufacturer's explicit warning about avoiding use on sloping ground is crucial. For my purposes on relatively flat boat decks and jetties, this isn't a major concern. However, if you intend to use this for hiking or in areas with uneven terrain, definitely heed their advice to test the stability carefully before fully sitting down. For my primary use of fishing (on both the boat and jetty), the Boreeman Upgraded Folding Stool has proven to be a surprisingly useful and convenient addition to my gear. The portability and ease of setup are fantastic, and the high weight capacity offers peace of mind. Just be mindful of the potential durability concerns highlighted by some users and the limitations regarding uneven surfaces. I'd recommend this to others looking for a lightweight and portable seating solution for various outdoor activities, but advise them to handle it with reasonable care to maximize its lifespan.

Useful but heavy
I am dealing with a herniated disc so I have to take breaks when I'm at work or walking around. This is easy to keep in my bag, but it is kind of heavy. People are surprised when I pull it out and ask me where I got it lol! I also use it to prop my feet up or rest my knee on it while standing. I wouldn't take this camping though as it's too heavy and it needs a sturdy floor.I got the square seat version and it's really comfy. I am able to adjust my posture with the increased seat space.

Perfect for Long Lines – Just Add a Cushion!
We bought these stools specifically for when we have to stand in line for over an hour at free movie screenings, and they’ve been a game-changer! They’re super sturdy, easy to open and close, and lightweight enough to carry without hassle. We’ve gotten a lot of use out of them already. One tip: definitely buy a seat cushion to go with them — after sitting for a while, your butt will thank you. Overall, this is a solid purchase for anyone needing portable seating on the go!

Easy to use, guarantees a seat
I volunteer working with hospice patients. I read to them and keep them company as they are passing. Often it’s hard to find a free chair because they’re usually in care facilities. I love this little stool because carrying it with me guarantees I’ll have a seat so I can sit with the patient. I’m 200+ lbs and this has no trouble supporting my weight. Also super easy to use. Love it!Foldability:Folds open and closed easily, super portable

COOL
UPDATE: The chair's still going strong. My mom got a similar one and loves it too. It's nice to watch people haul up all their folding chairs with such effort, then we just untwist these things and sit down. :DI bought this on impulse because a camping YouTuber I watch had one. The way he pulled out this chair, expanded it, and sat on it within the span of 2 seconds impressed me very much. Now that I own the chair, I can say it's just as impressive in person. I've used many camp chairs in my time and it's often hard for me to trust them enough to sit in them. A lot of them have awful engineering... but NOT this one! It's solid through and through.Pull it open, twist a bit clockwise to ensure all the sections lock open, and then when you're done using it, twist a bit counterclockwise to make it collapse. You might be thinking "What if I turn my body counterclockwise as I sit? Will it make the chair collapse?" No - the catch design has a slot to prevent this from happening. You have to pull AND rotate to make the chair open & close."Well OK then, what if I lift this up and move it? I hear things moving when I do that, will it undo the catches?" Well, this can happen, but I have to lift it up pretty sharply to cause it, and the spring inside the chair will instantly collapse the affected sections. You can expand or collapse as many sections as you want to make the height you want. So even if I pulled it up sharply, then sat right back down on it, the chair might get shorter as I swung it in midair, but that would be the only difference. It does NOT accidentally collapse or make any errant movement when I sit on it, at least for me. I haven't weighed myself in years but I'm probably 170-180 pounds.Overall this chair is a great convenience and comfort. I got a square-shaped one and I think the extra dollar of cost is worth it. I use it around the yard for when I have to get down to pick berries, and it's also good in spaces that are too cramped for a regular chair. If you pad the top, you can even use it like a stadium seat or one of those wearable ground cushions that hunters use. (EDIT: I am also now using it as a part of my portable workout setup, and it makes a lot more exercise forms possible.)Top marks and full recommendations from me :)
