Very Useful to Have
This is one of the most useful tools a man could own.A non-marking rubber mallet comes in handy for all sorts of tasks - assembling (or fixing) furniture, simple repairs around the house, basically anything you would normally hit with a hammer but in this case the rubber is a lot kinder and less destructive than a steel hammer face. This hammer is made by Ox and it is quality. A decent 16oz head of solid white non-marking rubber attached to a hardwood (looks like ash) handle. It’s the perfect size for most tasks. One thing I have noticed is that the rubber is quite soft and likely to be chewed up should the mallet be used on something unforgiving such as steel tent pegs. I have another mallet, in black (which marks) but also has harder rubber and is better suited to driving tent pegs etc. This non-marking one is best used on softer jobs.Very useful to have and exceptionally good value on Amazon.Recommended.

Removable Head?
Interesting this. Looks, feels good. Quite a soft compound head. The head flew off within a couple of hours of use, bounced across patio being installed. Not good first impression. Pushed head back in but keeps falling off..head marked up now, but wish could replace and see whether another would do the same.At the moment feeling I should have opted for the Thor mallet with the ‘through’ handle. Might have saved my frustration.

Only 100 hits before it broke.
Update - after about 100 hits the rubber has came away from the wooden handle making this not ideal for use. Returned and hope it's a one off.Original Review - its a mallet, its heavy and works as a mallet should. Hasn't marked any materials yet so would recommend.

A very handy tool to have
This is one of those tools where I can't believe I've got away without one for previous jobs.I used this for tiling my bathroom, using the mallet to even out high spots of adhesive behind tiles once they were already on the wall. I've no doubt that this has improved the finish of the tiles and given a more professional look - and I'm a DIYer.I'm sure this will have other uses around the home, until my next tiling job.
