Smells like lemon, very strong citrus. Smells awesome! Product works great, exactly like it says medium hold/shine.

The best pomade. The texture is so different from any other. Light smell, but feels great and looks great since it has a strong hold that lasts throughout the day.

I dress retro and this is perfect for that pre war hair style. I was sick of pomade that was like vaseline in my hair. I originally bought this because of the "Oh Brother Where Art Though?" movie of course and thought it was amusing. I was amazed by how well this holds, it doesn't make it greasy, it holds when I sweat. It's got a nice citrus smell. What really sold me is that I wear Stetson fedoras and it's the only pomade that holds my hair well enough to prevent hat hair. After hours in a Steston my hair still holds. It's my favorite pomade now. It's also much better than FOP!

My can arrived damaged and 50% of the contents had leaked out. That's shipping issues. The fragrance was overwhelming to me and my family. The words "reek", "French whore house" and other unmentionables were hurled my way. Okay, so I shelved it. After a year or so, I saw it and figured I'd subject myself to more ridicule as I'm both a glutton for punishment and I like tormenting my significant others. Surprise, the overwhelming odor had dissipated. Although the can was sealed, the fragrance was now tolerable. I'm clueless how or why this occurred, but it happened. The product itself works as advertised and holds hair well even over a few days. It can be reconstituted with a wet comb or wet hair brush just as if you just applied it fresh. I can't say whether your can will have an overwhelming smell like mine, maybe it was a fluke. It does work well, smelly or not. The only complaint now is the wife doesn't like the feel of my hair with Dapper Dan in it. Makes it stiff she says. Can't win for losing. At this time, I can say I actually like it. A well groomed male who showers daily will really like it. It will hold almost all day and a quick comb in the men's room will touch up splendidly, probably for the rest of the day. Those can't bathe daily; like truck drivers etc, will like it because it's not greasy and will work for several days with just a wet comb. If the fragrance upon receipt was at the level it is now, I'd have given it five stars. But it gets four stars...just in case super smelly is the norm and you have to wait a year before you can tolerate it! Good luck.

As a big fan of "O' Brother Where Art Thou?" I just had to get this product. I wanted the Red tin, but I prefer a shinier finish and medium hold.The product works amazingly, looks great when combed, and stays in all day. Even if you're not big into styling, a little pomade goes a long way to prevent excess frizz, "poofiness," or curls. This particular pomade smells incredible, I should add.My only real complaint is the price. You can often find many other pomades for far less. Heck, you can even make some for pretty cheap too.(Update Nov. 9, 2015: This product is still going strong. I use Dapper Dan pomade about 3 times a week, maybe more. Sometimes I use a little, sometimes I use a lot. One tin has lasted me 5+ months, and probably will last nearly 2+ months more. I should note, I DO have short hair, so long hair might need to buy more often. This product still dazzles my nose with its scent; I hope they never change it!)

This product works great and smells good too. Nice hold and not too stiff if that’s what you’re looking for.

It has a pleasant citrus/grapefruit smell to it and it holds hair in desired style with a wet look to it.

It looks as if someone already got ahold of the product before I did. Good product, but would like for it to be all there when I open it.

I've only recently gotten into styling my hair with any regularity, and originally got this on a lark after hearing George Clooney go on about being a "Dapper Dan man" in O Brother Where Art Thou.Ended up being a great purchase. It's very easy to use, perfect for styling short to medium length hair, and even has a pleasant scent. Highly recommend.

Nice hair pomade in a proper screw top metal container. Holds the hair quite firmly and washes out just with water.

La uso ormai da tempo, ottima per capelli corti perché mantiene bene l'acconciatura senza lasciare residui, durante la giornata basta bagnarsi un po' le mani e si rimodella benissimo..Con capelli un po' lunghi tende però a non mantenere l'acconciatura a lungo, ha inoltre un profumo veramente buono.

fija bastante bien y huele como naranja-mandarina. lo mejor es que no deja residuos blancos como otras marcas.
