Lacks written content, high on advertising........
Visited the islands, I'm very familiar with the local culture. I thought it would be nice to keep up with events, etc. But, I found the magazine had way too many advertisements--which seems to be the focus of the publisher. I've discontinued my subscription.It's disappointing that they cannot focus on the people and culture. I found reading content on various websites online was much more informative. I gave it two stars for publishing quality (photo, layout, etc) -- but only two because the content (writing) was way too lean.

Better Than Expected
What a pretty mag to lay on the coffee table. And while I expected all the large glossy ads I was surprised about the quality of the content; it's surprisingly good. We're not talking volumes of information, but just right - you're left knowing something more about Hawaii and craving more. Each issue that arrives here at the house wanders from coffee table to my desk and maybe back again, then and eventually to work where as I hand it off to someone I sometimes ask "When is your next trip to Hawaii?". And I have actually bought a few things from advertisers in the magazine, including [...] which is now a holiday tradition in our house. This is also a perfect gift magazine and the whole magazine process through Amazon makes it so easy (plus and in my case I save Ship To addresses within Amazon so new orders are even faster).

Bring mom to the mountain
My mom is unable to visit me in Hawaii, but she just oves the magiazine and my attempt to share some of the beautiy of my home. She really likes it. I'm glad.

Hawaii Magazine
It's about the best up to date magazine about Hawaii out there. The photography is great and the articlesInformative.

Excellent mag for those snowy days and vacation plans
We get to the Big Island a lot since we have family there. This mag has great articles on all the Islands. It has places you've been for the memories and places you haven't been yet for planning your trip. Ads so you can order that item from that store that you wished you had bought right then but the flight was leaving so soon. Plus lots of great rental ads in the way back. Going condo or rental house is definitely the way to see the islands. But I wouldn't knock the hotels either.

HAWAII NOT HONOLULU
If I wanted Honolulu magazine I would have ordered it. I received a few HAWAII magazines.. The rest have been Honolulu
