I've had it for 6 months (lost it recently). It charged my surface pro 3 just fine, but the USB port did not charge my phone. The wire by the magnetic head became exposed within the first couple days as well, but it never frayed. It didn't affect the performance but it did make me uncomfortable to see.Nonetheless, this did exactly what it was supposed to do at a much lower price. Good backup charger.

Works well! Replaced my original Surface Pro 3 charger. Only down side is it gets REALLY hot, real fast. Be careful where you lay the "brick" part of the charger. Also, it doesn't stop using electricity when you don't have it plugged into your surface, the original charger did.

Doesn't charge my Surface Pro 3! Used someone else's original and that one worked, but this one no. Plug snaps in correctly and it is the correct cord, it seems. Lights up at connection end, but does not charge.
