How can you go wrong with a water filter?

I just bought these and tested the water with Water Quality Tester, Accurate and Reliable, HoneForest TDS Meter, EC Meter & Temperature Meter. It was in the 320 range which is the equivalent of drinking right out of my tap which was 340. So what was the point of these filters shouldn't it have been in the 0 to 100 range???? I also tested Costco drinking water and that was in the 20 range where it should be. I'm so disheartened by this since I have been buying these filters for the past 4 years. I'm curious to see what the company says the levels should be.

This did not fit my French door Samsung fridge even though it claims the same part number. They appear the same size and shape but the tabs that screw into the fridge at the top are clearly different.Update: I found this advice on a review of the brand name filters to another site. I followed it and the filter now fits.When you remove the old filter (which can re-installed okay), you must keep a significant amount of pressure Up on the filter when you unscrew it all the way. This insures the collar tabs are completely reset. Then when you install the new filter, you also need a good amount of pressure on the new filter when screwing it back on.

After reading dozens of reviews yesterday, frustrated by the Home Depot filter cost being only 10 dollars less than OEM. I went to Amazon to see what others do for an older Samsung model. My logic makes no sense, in that 3 for the price seemed it was "you get what you pay for" pricing. Also, didn't like China manufactured. PRC (People Rep China). Read alot about the filter ratings. Opted for teh WATERDROP PLUS (note the PLUS) in that they have a less costly, less filtering model). As others suggested, after installation, I filled about 8 glasses of water, until it was no longer cool, then I knew I was into the good stuff. Just for testing purposes, I filled 2 glasses, one that was still chill, and one that was warm, set them aside and taste tested with the husband. (who claimed he couldn't tell the water tasted funny). Love to post the look on his face, if I had remember to capture it. Thanks for reading, not get to shopping. You won't regret it.

I bought the two-pack of these filters recently after the OEM product was no longer available for subscription. I'm really glad I did! Yes, they are a bit less expensive, and that's great, but here is the big reason I like these so much: they fit!! About 5 years ago, Samsung changed it's filter design for this model, but did not change the product number for the filter, and they swore it would still fit existing Samsung fridges that previously used this model. Well, it didn't. They had added a 3rd notch where the product locks in to the fridge, and that made it not work in my 9 year old Samsung fridge anymore. I found workarounds on the Internet that basically involved cutting off the 3rd notch with a utility knife. and that worked, but it's a pain to have to do surgery every time you buy a filter.So, I am very happy to report that these filters have 2 notches, not 3, and they fit perfectly into my Samsung fridge. and they went in easily without me having to apply excessive "body English" to get them to lock in place, either. I ran 3 large cups of water to flush it after installation, then tasted it, and the water tastes fine. As long as they last 6 months like they are supposed to, I'll be using these in the future!Follow up July 2019: just swapped out the first filter 5 months after placement because the light came on the fridge saying to do so. Water taste has remained good and the finicky water drinkers in my household have not complained. Win!
