When the book came it was in pristine condition. But next I noticed it opened backwards. I was stunned. What on earth? Manufactured wrong? Defective? Send it back? I checked with my daughter and she confirmed these kinds of books open on the left not the right. Is this some aberrant New Age/Post Modern thing? Do Japanese read their books backwards? It is absolutely precious and truly fluffy. I seriously had to read everything at once it was so adorable. Sometimes I feel the protagonist might be handled with kid-gloves a bit, which can be frustrating—but she always makes it through things showing people she’s not as naive as they think.
