Best Devotional
I've read plenty of devotionals that only have you ready one short verse of the Bible and then are throw into paragraphs of (good) content from someone's popular books or from messages pastors have delivered. This devotional teaches you how to interact with the Bible by thinking about what you read, praying about what you read, and applying what you read. It gives you a good chuck of scripture (with an optional expanded passage each day) and It may have you read the passages differently each day. Then it may ask you some questions about the text, followed by ways you can pray about what you have read and shows how you can apply what you read.I've benefited greatly from it and it got me in the habit of Thinking, Praying, Applying what i read each day. The ESV version of Solo is my favorite (i own the Message edition and I've tried the other translations). I highly recommend it for anyone trying to get into the Bible each day and start a habit.

Not for me
I find it had to get into personally. But it might be something you're into. I found better devotions on the bible app

Very Subjective Material IMO
I'm careful to ever give bad reviews to products that are trying to help others spiritual lives because they do so much good, and I recognize that. But this book, in my opinion, seemed very flighty, feely, open-your-mind type of material. Not that that's bad, the book had a lot of tangible ways to help your prayer life among other things but every single devotion was "read it, now read it again, how did that make you feel?, now read it again slower etc." I may have exaggerated a bit, but that's what it seemed like. I suppose I'm a meat and potatoes sort of guy when it comes to the Bible. I want a good relationship with my Creator, I want tangible ways to do a better job, and then I want to take action and make those concepts I learned in the Bible a reality. I have a hard time digging into the emotions of the text every morning.Just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Solo: An Uncommon Devotional
I am enjoying using this resource to pray scripture. It is insightful and thought-provoking, and the passages are well chosen.

Definitely Uncommon!
This devotional is unlike any other I've ever read. Each day provides the reader with a passage of scripture in the English Standard Version and then there are 4 prompts to help the reader reflect on what they've read...Read: tells the reader to read the passage aloud, sometimes prompting them to think of certain things or look for certain things as they read. Think: Takes the reader into the story, it prompts them to think about what they've read and provides context to the scriptures. Pray: Prompts the reader to pray about what they've read. Live: The application part of the exercise that encourages the reader to act on what they've learned.I found this to be such an interesting and helpful devotional because it really only prompts the reader and encourages them to go deeper into the word. It is based on a method called Lectio divina, which helps you to "absorb and maditate on the scripture".I highly recommend this book for anyone who studies the Bible. It's one of the best I've found!
