HydraX Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker, 5W Water Resistant and Dustproof Outdoor/Shower Speaker with Suction Cup, Hands-Free Microphone - Black

Purchased this item to use in my shower in order to play music while getting ready for the day. Worked well initially in that I could connect my phone to it through bluetooth. However, couldn't ever connect my Mac (10.11) to the speaker regardless of it showing in my bluetooth list of devices. The packaging only comes with one USB to Micro USB chord with no way of connecting it to an outlet unless you already have a plug-in for this purpose.Now for the above mentioned things, I would rate this product 3 stars, BUT THE WORST PART, and the reason I gave this 1 star is because after using this for two weeks, the item wouldn't charge at all. So once the battery died, the entire item became useless and essentially just plastic taking up space. Granted, this item did fall once from a height of about 3 ft. But if you're going to have an item that needs to be detached and reattached every time you use it (charge hold is pathetic) it should at least be durable enough to withstand something as minor as that. I guess you get what you pay for right?

So far, this speaker has been working amazingly. I have it in the shower. The suction cup works great, which is a problem I had with previous shower speakers. The previous speaker I had was constantly falling off the wall, but not this one! It hasn't fallen once. The sound it more than adequate, and the speaker gets quite loud. The battery has lasted me for over 2 weeks without charging it, so good rating on battery life as well.

Only got one functional use out of it.

This speaker by HydraX comes in a great box for easy gift giving. It was easy to connect to my iphone via bluetooth. This speaker is very nicely built and has a great suction cup on the back so you can install in your bathroom to have some music playing while getting cleaned up. The speaker has a nice rubber casing and the button are all on this rubber casing. The sound comes out nice and clean and sharp, it doesn't get too loud but its not designed for that. It gives enough sound needed for my usage while showering and putting on makeup. This has a nice speaker cover on it, metal mesh covering. Seems to be built very sturdy it says it is water resistant but I don't like to push things to the limit. I can see splashing being ok and the occasional spray however I would be leary of installing in the shower for fear it might break That is just me being cautious. You can have it outside the shower and still hear the sounds so I see no need in installing it in the shower with you. The bluetooth range seems to be a great range. I was able to walk about 20 feet or so before the sound started to break up. I am impressed with the speaker, I dont have anything negative to say really. I received this item for free or highly discounted to write an honest unbiased review.

I've had Waterproof speakers before and most of them in the same style and size as this weren't even close to this speaker, I wouldn't say it has the best sound quality I've heard (not enough bass, mids are too high) yet for a shower speaker and being able to receive phone calls it's great. The speaker itself is made out of durable plastic and all buttons are made of silicone as well as the charging port & micro SD card slot, the suction cup is almost the same size as the speaker (a bit smaller) and is holding firm and the speaker will stay on the tiles without sliding down or falling.There is a small hook to snap it to your backpack or bicycle and pretty much anything that has space to snap the hook on.Instructions / Manuel is super small and some people will need a magnifying glass to read it since it's so small.My use of this speaker and all previous speakers I had for shower use are about 15-25 min a day and the battery last for almost 2 weeks (depending on volume used) I would say that on full volume it holds for about 1 week.Pairing was extremely fast and the phone recognized the speaker in about 10 seconds and connected really fast.Overall it's a good shower speaker that sounds nice, can answer phone calls and made out of high quality materials and also looks great.I'm thankful I was able to receive this product at a discounted price in exchange for my unbiased opinion and honest review.Seller and Amazon were great, shipping was extremely fast of course, Thank you for a superb service and product.

I somehow had missed writing this review, but this speaker has been going strong in my shower for over four months now. The battery life is fantastic and it's quick and easy to charge as well. The ability to take a call from the shower is something I never had the need or desire to do before, but it does make for a pretty funny conversation starter nevertheless.I have actually recommended this product to family and this very item became a stocking stuffer for many this last christmas as a result. I haven't heard anything back from the others, but I am certain they are happy with it as well.
