Distinctive Home 500-Thread-Count Cotton Sateen King Sheet Set, Ivory

I recently purchased two sets of these ivory 500 thread-count King sheet sets for my California King SelectComfort bed.They seem to be well made.The "feel" of the fabric makes me think of sail cloth -- thick and sturdy, but not the most luxurious feeling fabric. Perhaps they will become smoother with a few washes (I hope!), but right out of the bag, they were not very soft; when one rubs one's hand or other skin over the fabric, there is a lot more friction than I would expect from a 500 thread-count cotton fabric. (I own two cotton sheet sets of much lower thread-count that are MUCH softer than these.)The measurements of the top sheet are: 6'6" wide (large hem edge) by 9" long (smaller hem edge).[The twin sheets I already owned and used as top sheets most of the time (so I don't have to share the cover!) are 5'3" by 7"9".](I was going to cut and re-hem the top sheet to make two sheets, but it is not wide/long enough to have very big sections when finished.)Another issue is that the fitted sheet is not so fitted on the mattress I have; in fact, it is very very loose and bunches up on top and on the edges, which makes uncomfortable folds to sleep on. The whole thing is just too large for my bed, and I thought my bed was huge! My mattress is about 10 inches thick, and is a "california king", as I mentioned before. If you have a thicker mattress, all the better; you may not have this issue with the fitted sheet.I hope the set I opened softens over time with washing; in the meantime, I may be returning the other set. They are tolerable, but I was disappointed at first.If you are looking for a very sturdy set of sheets with a LARGE fitted sheet, this is a good set for you.edit - After several washings, the sheets are less "crinkly" and are holding up well. The hefty weight may be an advantage in the long run.

I've always slept on the classic bed in a bag sheets, never understood the reason to get higher threadcount, just thought it was another way for well off people to spend extra money, let me tell you, It's not! These sheets are absolutely dreamy to sleep on, very comfortable and a good weight. Only knock I could notice is that they do hold wrinkes very well but who cares... they are covered by the blanket anyway. Spend the extra money and go with these, you will actually sleep better.

Feels like a soft cloud. More like 800 or above thread count at a much lower cost. Love it.

These are very nice sheets.Smooth, cool and comfortable.Make sure you wash them before use though, and you'll love the feel of these.I was so impressed with them I brought a second set.I love the feel of these sheets and even my husband loves them !!I haven't found any other 500TC sheets at this low price.A great deal !!!

Terribly rough and scratchy

These sheets are soft and fit great. I love them! But I agree with the other review, the color is very different from the picture. i actually wanted a lavender, and went for the rosewood thinking it was pink and also nice. the color is darker, and not pink at all. it is a medium purple with a little hint of lavdender/pink.

The sheets are great, but the picture is a disservice. They're solid purple, not pink, and there's no pinstriping to them as the picture indicates. The picture is of a different set of sheets.

Not at all as expected. Buy Wamsutta brand at Bed, Bath & Beyond instead.Only wash Warm/Cold and dry on Medium.
