The Write Dudes U.S.A. Gold Pencils

My husband needed pencils (LOTS of pencils) for his classroom, so I went on a hunt for some quality pencils that don't break the bank. These Write Dudes pencils are a steal for the quality. Nice cedar wood, smooth lead, and the erasers actually work.Far better than the other cheap pencils available these days.Note: The 10-count and 24-count Amazon listings are actually for the same pencils (just the quantity is different), in case you're looking for a different quantity, or if the price for one is better than the other when you read this.I ordered both listings thinking they were slightly different variants from the same company (since the product photos are different). However, the pencils I received were identical, so it seems the packaging has just been updated since one of the listings had its photos taken. I'm including photos of each package to show they are the same.(This product was a personal purchase for myself at a publicly-available list price. I am reviewing it solely because I want to share my experience with other potential customers. Amazon had a very good deal on these pencils as an add-on item, unfortunately the price appears to have doubled in the interim.I inspected 5 packs of pencils and concluded that one should buy these pencils with caution.The product is made in the USA and incense cedar is clearly used. The lead alignment and the pencil cosmetically is quite good.Unfortunately, in each pack of 10 pencils, exactly 2 pencils per pack had various degree of bend, sometimes quite obvious to casual inspection. My daughter calls it the "banana pencil!". Not a good thing for a brand that is trying to sell on the points of being a quality product made in the ol' US of A.Even my cheap China and Thailand manufactured pencils don't have this warped issue....go figure!Apart from the bend issue, it's a solid performer that is a joy to write with, and the eraser does a great job without hardly a smudge.

Good quality American made pencils!......Much, much better quality than all the cheap Chinese made pencils. You have to keep an eye on the price though. I paid $1.09 for a 10 pack, and today (11/4/15) they are $3.99 for the same 10 pack of pencils. Both were shipped by Amazon.

These pencils write fine, but I think they cost much less at Target.

I received the box yesterday, and the box contained 8 pencils, not 10!

I was looking for a pencil that would sharpen properly and not have the lead break right after they were sharpened. These pencils fit the bill. I've bought this brand more than once and have never had the lead break. The bonus is that they are made in the USA.

Love these things, the eraser is great and leaves no smudges.

Very nice yellow pencils made in the USA. Great for school.
