Well made, with hinged lid and clip fastener. *by C***W on 29 January 2021* They come with a hinged lid and a clip on the front to hold the lid closed. I'm unsure of the longevity of the hinge, as it is just plastic, but I did open and close the box 100 times and there was no degradation to the hinge that I could see. The clip does hold the lid closed, but fill it with nails and drop it on the floor, as I did, and you'll have nails everywhere. I found the clip a bit tricky to open too and had to be careful not to spill the contents when doing so.
