Well made and sturdy ... these super absorbent open-cell foam cleaning swabs leave no fibers behind
These rectangle foam cleaning swabs are well made and sturdy enough to even rinse and re-use!I use these foam swabs primarily for gun cleaning and oiling tight areas and for cleaning electronics - jobs that require a well made foam swab that would not break or leave cotton fibers behind. It's also works great for cleaning my computer keyboard and even my tv remote. In the garage, I use these 0.5" x 0.9" rectangular foam swabs for detailing the car engine and the dashboard ... works well cleaning the air conditioning vents.PROS:The polystyrene/plastic handle is stiff and durable, so no worries about it bending or breaking even if some force is applied when swabbing. The rectangular foam head is securely bonded to the polystyrene/plastic handle. So, no loose swab heads! The swab heads are made from 'open-cell' foam so unlike cotton swabs, no fibers are left when cleaning ... especially important when cleaning electronics. The swab's 'open-cell' foam absorbs lot of liquid which is especially useful when cleaning and oiling.CONS:They are pricey compared to large cotton swabs/applicatiors.These swabs are packaged in sealed plastic bags. It would be nice if they were resealable bags. Hey I'm harping ... these are great foam cleaning swabs that get the job done.SEE MY PHOTOS IN CUSTOMER IMAGESCheck around on Amazon. The unit price for these rectangle foam cleaning swabs varies.Hope my review and photos were helpful ... Jeffrey A. (Jeff)

Works to clean pistols.
They work OK. I like some of my others a bit better. These sponges seem a bit too easy to tear but still functional. I use them to clean my pistols.

I use these for face painting with powder paints, like Starblends or Ben Nye powders (essentially, highly pigmented eye shadow). I'd compare them to lollipop blenders, but smaller and obviously squared instead of round. They work great for this purpose! And there's so many at this fantastic price, I can use them as disposable, but they wash in a washer or in the sink just fine.

They may work fine for a water based inkjet
If you plan on using these swabs to clean your wide format EcoSol printer using the proper cleaning solution used for these printers you may be in for a surprise such as I was. The foam puffed up and came off the stick and stuck to the side of my print head. They may work fine for a water based inkjet. They are nice swabs Iam sure good for many uses but Eco Solvent printers NOT.

NOT suitable for optical use, because they leave residue.
I bought these specifically for optical use, along with some lab-purity isopropanol (for which they are supposed to be suited). They left distinct residue on the glass, which had to be rubbed off with another swab and considerable effort. To test whether this was a problem with the swabs or the alcohol, I carefully cleaned a plate of glass and then smeared alcohol across it with one of these swabs and then a regular Q-Tip. The smear from this swab left an obvious streak of film, whereas the Q-Tip did not.

Great for cleaning firearms.
I use these for cleaning my firearms. More economical than some of the others and they do a good job. I plan on buying more.

Not what I thought they were going to be and do.............
I am not real happy with them. They seem to be a tiny bit to large to fit in the area between the keys/rows. Also, they don't seem to do much in terms of removing debris from the areas between the keys. Unless I am doing something wrong, and don't understand how to use, or what they are supposed to do, I would not recommend them.
