On the bustling streets of Saigon, three very different people all seeking connection are about to collide. A beautiful flight attendant looking for love. A zookeeper hiding within his animal kingdom to nurse a broken heart. And the young flower-selling runaway who brings them together. But to avoid the authorities and a strict uncle tracking her down, she will need all of her cleverness and determination if she is going to grab any chance at lasting happiness.

one of my favorite movies
I read some derogatory review where a self proclaimed expert on oriental culture complained how unrealistic the movie was because the plot had the little girl not getting raped and murdered. I have to take serious exception with that review. And having been intimately involved in oriental culture though friendship, travel and marriage, I can say that the plot is very believable. Further more the plot is a flash of reality. It says to the viewer that the world may be feel cold but there is warmth just below the surface. the characters show us that bravery and fear are choices. Certainly the child was in some danger; but ask yourself how you would have treated her and if many people would have done any differently than you? I'm a former Marine and a stone cold anti-romantic--I can't stand the garbage love stories that Hollywood throws together. This movie is so different. It just about made me get watery eyed. I highly recommend it.

Great
Wow. What a strong performance by Han Thi Pham! She is so adorable and yet very believable. Her eyes tell stories all by themselves and you find yourself rooting for her throughout the whole movie. From beginning to end, you are drawn to the beauty of the country, the realness of the characters, and the plight of little Han. The wisdom she gains from living on the street at such a young age is inspiring and her desire to share that with others is wonderful. Yet she is a child and that comes through too. A must see! You'll be amazed.

Rating is based on feedback from someone else
I bought this as a gift for my mom. She was really looking forward to watching it, but told me she got a little bored with it and it wasn't as good as she thought it would be. She didn't even feel compelled to finish it in one sitting. Not really sure how helpful this is, but she loved the movie "Three Seasons" and even though she had already seen it, she would've preferred I had gifted her with that movie rather than this one. So if you're trying to decide which Vietnamese movie to buy, "Three Seasons" sounds like a better bet.

deeply touched
I like this story of love and family. It is a new start for three people whom you relate to and hope for to the end of the film. We all would like a happy family who care for each other like these three do so well. Their performances are fantastic in this film that pulls on your heart and does leave tears down your face.

I cry like a baby...
...every time I watch this movie. This story gives tender example of the binding powers of love, under the most unlikely circumstances. This sweet child's shear will and desire not only changed her life, but brought hope and deliverance to two others who had surely lost their way. This movie has made the 'Top 5' of my all time favorites-- I'm tearing up just thinking about it. <3

Sweet, heartwarming story from Vietnam
Not deep, just a sweet little story from Vietnam. Predictable, but exotic enough to be enjoyable.

Great foreign film
Great foreign film. Very sweet. I've been to Vietnam twice and found this movie captured modern-day Saigon and the hearts of the people beautifully. A must-see for anyone planning on traveling to Southeast Asia.
