Metal Bird House Guard with Copper Portal for Eastern Bluebird Houses 1 1/2 Inch Opening (4 Pieces)

Blue bird house might need some modifications so the product will fit.

My only negative remark is, the screw holes should be tapered so the screw heads would fit down into the plate.

There are only five parts to this product: a stamped brass cover for the bird house opening hole and four brass screws. The screws fit into the holes of the cover but won't sit flush as they are designed to be countersunk which can't be accomplished with the brass plate that they are used to secure. Pan head or round head screws would have worked fine. The provided countersink do secure the brass hole cover plate and they are brass which is good but the heads stick out awkwardly from the plate. I suppose the birds don't mind but the screws are clearly not the type anyone would normally used. Providing appropriate screws seamed like it should have been a no-brainer.

Installed on 4 new bluebird houses to keep woodpeckers and squirrels out. Will see if they work without scaring off the bluebirds. The edges are sharp so use care.
