We are away in the caravan, we have mains power, but to check out this new controller the on board charger has been switched off for the last 2 weeks, lighting, water pump all the 12v systems haven't skipped a beat. The battery voltage hasn't dropped below 12.4 volts. The 100/20 specs 290 watt for a 12v system. My 2 panels are 300 watt together. Series/parallel volt/amp within range. ?** A: On the panel side this MPPT will take max 100V and on the battery side it can push max 20A. This means that your Voc (open circuit voltage of the whole string should never be more than 100V. I had these running to the max, 1 controller controlling 4 panels of Voc 48V each. I did 2 panels in series and 2 in parallel. I live in the tropics. during the morning this gives me on the battery side a Pmax of 19 A at about 50V. the controller gets hot but works fine for over a year already. When the battery is full, the PV Voltage goes up to 96V with low Amps. If you 'd run the Amps higher, the white 20A fuse will trip (looks like a car fuse). Never put a panel string higher then Voc 100 V as that will damage the electronics of the controller. I would recommend a slightly lower amps (battery side) and V(panels side) then what I do in order for the controller not to become as hot.
