The pen is beautifully made from tiger wood giving it very clear and distinctive grain patterns. It is thick to hold but nicely weighted. It comes with its own piston converter but can take standard cartridges (I have not tried these). The nib is medium and ink flow good, although not wet. It is however very decorative giving the pen an overall high end look. It writes well for a pen of this price bracket although not comparable to the likes of Lamy

Congratulations on exchanging one inapplicable noun for another of equal irrelevance. Is 'Quality' not the word you're after? Anyway, the pen itself is quite thick (about the size of the Jinhao159), apart from the extra fine nib, which is thin, without putting too fine a point on the point. I've had mine for a while now as I wanted to make sure it's as good as my initial impressions suggested. It's a beauty and writing with it is a joy. Nibs tend to vary even within the same model, and the slightest misalignment of tines can impair performance. Luckily, this EF is a good un! - touch wood, you'll be as happy with yours!

This is a “wooden” pen which comes in various wood styles. I chose rosewood. For a man it’s a nicely sized and weighted pen. The cap mounts very nicely and securely. It has a steel nib ( medium or fine). I had a medium nib and it writes very smoothly. An excellent pen for the price and more evidence than Jinhao pens are becoming a brand where price meets quality to the benefit of the user. It does not come boxed ( stated in the advert ) just in case you’re thinking of it as a gift.

This is a substantial pen in terms of size. Fits the grip well if you are comfortable with slightly oversized pens. The writing experience is smooth and the ink filling mechanism works flawlessly. Overall a good buy and well worth the price tag.
