On one occasion my dog was injured, and in the rush to break camp forgot to unplug the electrical cord from the box at the campground. It pulled the outter rubber covering away from the plug by about a half inch. I bought this to try to bridge the gap to the plug. This stuff is amazing. It is truely liquid electrical tape! You apply it with small brush and it sets up quickly allowing you to apply another coat. It sets up hard like electrical tape with great adherence. I love this stuff!

I bought this because I had several cords, ranging from ipad charging cables to the cord for my electric razor to the cord on the vacuum cleaner, whose insulation had become brittle and was cracked and/or missing. While not visually restoring the insulation to a “like new” condition, it does do a great job repairing the insulation and, in my opinion, looks and works better than electrical tape, especially if additional build up would interfere with using something like a cord clip/hook on an appliance. While it dries or sets fairly quickly (you can safely apply additional coats, if needed, after ~5-10 minutes, the product is somewhat “gloppy” and it will run or drip before it dries sufficiently that it won’t. When completely dry, it does seem to be fairly flexible. Based on my experience, I would suggest the following: - Suspend the cord/cable horizontally and then watch for and remove any drips until it sets. If the repair is being made near the plug/connector, hanging the cord vertically could cause the product to pool excessively at the plug. - Put plastic or paper below the cord to protect the floor or work surface from any drips from the brush or the cord. - If using the brush attached to the lid, clean the product off the stem first so that you don’t have more product than you want running down the stem and onto the brush. - Be sure to clean any material off the threads of the can and the can lid before closing the can. - Instead of using the brush attached to the lid, consider using a separate brush, like a small acid brush, and wiping any excess on that brush off on an old soup can instead of the threaded edge of the product’s can. Overall, this product worked great for my applications and exceeded my expectations.

This is a great product, (mostly). It's easy to apply, (though a bit thin and drippy), it sets and dries quickly and it creates a durable seal. My only gripe is that, after several months, the material dries out and becomes useless. Frequently, I have more than 60% left over when it is no longer viable. Then, I have to purchase another can. Good thing it's not too expensive. This last purchase, I'm attempting to add a self-made rubber gasket under the lid to see if that provides a better air-tight seal. Hopefully, it makes a difference. I'll follow up with results...

It's good stuff. I ordered "COLOR: Clear", the photo showed RED, and I got black. I wish I needed black, because- like I said- it's good stuff. They need to fix the product page. And now having used it (and smelled it) for a couple of days, it seems for all the world exactly like rubber cement. So, I got some rubber cement and tried it in the same manner. Rubber cement remains tacky and this product doesn't.
