I have been searching for this style of bag for a few months as we travel a lot and my old crossbody bags haven’t held up. After going through too many bags, I knew I wanted a leather bag. I specifically wanted a bag that was durable, comfortable to carry, secure and could fit my camera and lens. As a professional photographer, my camera and lenses are a bit long and bulky. While I do have bags specifically made for all of our camera gear, I wanted a bag that I could just throw in one of my cameras with a zoom for the day, have it fit snug and not have to worry about it. I purchased this bag to try it out and am pleasantly surprised.First impressions:It looked smaller than what I was expecting. However, upon further inspection, I was very happy with the size. It’s pretty perfect actually. Not at all bulky, but this bag can fit A LOT! I couldn’t even believe it!Stitching and Leather:The stitching on my bag is good. However, the flap with the closure is not sewed on straight to the bag. It’s not too noticeable from far away, but, as a buyer, I did notice this. And it is something that others have mentioned in their reviews as well. The point on the closure strap looks like it’s coming apart, but it isn’t. It is a handmade bag and that portion doesn’t look maybe glued down. I will be taking a further look at it and maybe fixing it or just leaving it. It’s not noticeable from afar or too big of a deal.Closure:I don’t have to undo my closure each time - like a belt - as underneath it has a push lock closure. This may be an update, but I had seen someone else’s review that showed a photo is this. This was a pleasant surprise as well as it allows for easier access.Shoulder strap:It feels thin but sturdy. It’s adjustable and I feel it’s the perfect length as it provides a lot of options.Front pocket:Not many other reviews mentioned or photographed the front outer pocket. I love it. It fits my iPhone 7S Plus with a case and pop socket comfortably. And I could probably fit more. If I don’t use it for my phone, it will fit my expo disc, extra camera battery and CF/SD card case.Back zipper:The back zipper is great. I love having this for added security while traveling. However, the inside lining of this portion of my bag must have been scraps of canvas as it has writings and markings all over it. I don’t understand how this can be overseen. This was a let down and looks cheap and sloppy. On the other hand, the bag does have a lot of pluses so I didn’t feel like this would merit taking a whole star away. But, it was disappointing, especially when you’re so excited to have the bag in your hands...and then you see that. A bit of a let down and I hope the seller takes not of this.The smell:I was expecting so much worse after reading some of the reviews. It’s actually a very light and pleasant smell of leather. Not overpowering at all. I actually love it.The packaging:Previous reviews mentioned a silk dust bag. This is not what I received. Mine is quite rough to the touch. Not a big deal. At least it brought a dust bag. Always a plus. The note with care instructions and information on the bag came on recycled paper and was a nice personal touch from seller.All in all, I think and hope this is a bag will last me a very long time. I love the look and feel of it and also how well compartmentalized it is. It is comfortable for travel as well as every day. As a photographer and small business owner, I’m happy to be supporting another small business with a passion for her craft. I would recommend this product.

UPDATE (JUL 16, 2022): Just popping in to announce that after six years... it's still going strong and beautiful as ever! A nice patina has developed and it is incredibly soft, due to this being my go-to bag for so long. I recently purchased a larger version of this same bag from Komal and you can see how well my tried and trusted bad has held up compared to my new purchase. I cannot stress how great these bags are - just buy it!ORIGINAL REVIEW (FEB 14, 2016): I've had this purse for approximately a month and I wanted to get a good feel of it before I wrote up a review. First and foremost, I need to express how much I adore this bag. It is 100% pure leather (and smells like it, which, to me, is lovely), it is durable, functional, and has the cutest shape, cut, and color - seriously, the color of the leather is deep and rich and is absolutely stunning. I am very particular about the cross body purses I wear because I have carried a leather Fossil cross body purse religiously since about 2012. This Fossil purse went with me everywhere (all over Europe, to various states, concerts, sporting events, weddings) and when I finally decided it was time to retire it for a while, I took to Amazon to find the perfect replacement and found this purse. It is everything I could have wanted it to be and more.It has plenty of room for me to carry my phone (which I tuck in the front pocket inside the main body of the purse because the lining is soft and won't scratch or damage the glass), keys, chapstick/lipstick, pens, a large wallet ( Hoxis Generous Faux Texture Leather Purse Organizer Double Zip Around Long Wallet with Wristlet(brown)  (which fits perfectly in the bottom), and numerous other items -- and I haven't even had to use the front pocket with the snap! The leather strap is adjustable, which I will admit I was slightly worried about considering the only thing preventing this bag from falling off my shoulders was a small buckle, but it is surprisingly very, very secure and that worry quickly diminished after a few uses. The only (temporary) downside to the adjustable strap is that the bits of leather left out at the end have curled slightly, but ultimately, as the leather gets more worn in, it will naturally tame itself.As some reviews have stated, and as the seller states in a detailed note that arrives with the purse, the leather is quite stiff when you first receive it. This faded for me within a few weeks, but could vary if you don't carry it every day as I did. There is a distinct smell, but contrary to what other reviews have stated, it was not unpleasant, nor was it overpowering. To me, it had a very distinct new leather smell and I'm actually a little bummed that it faded... To address concerns left in other reviews regarding the security of this bag staying closed and the inconvenience of having to buckle it closed every time: there is a simple (and secure) fix. The top flap will tuck into the bottom part of the buckle and will keep the bag closed, without having to actually buckle the purse. And even then, if this isn't your thing, the purse is deep enough that the only way you are going to drop things out of this bag is if you are in high traffic areas where you will be bumped or practically swinging it around your head. But I digress...I am head over heels in love with this purse. It is stylish, functional and secure. I have three international trips coming up within the next 4 months and I am excited to take this purse along on my adventures. This purse is great!! It is the perfect size in order to hold everything you need without being bulky. The leather is really soft and looks like it is expensive. Crftmanship is unmatched. Highly recommend! Very cute and sturdy!

I have 2 leather journals from this company (I love them both) and you can tell they put much effort in their products, and this purse is no exception. The stitching is tight, the leather is thick and has the most heavenly leather smell, and I believe this bag would hold up for a really long time. The shoulder strap is long and adjustable and there's 2 zipper compartments on the inside along with 2 open sections plus the flap covers one outside compartment. The leather is rather stiff but I know with use it will soften up over time. As much as I wanted to love it, I returned it because it just wasn't roomy inside enough to hold everything that I need on a daily basis - it also is really heavy and did not feel comfortable on my shoulder. This bag just wasn't for me but only because of my personal preferences and not because of the craftsmanship or quality of it and I plan to order another purse from this company in the future.

This bag’s functionality is everything I hoped for and even more; but like all good things, it took some working out. Now my bag comfortably holds all my needed items accessibly, my items that need to be safe securably, and it found room for my medium sized water bottle on top of everything within the bag, yet held securably under the main flap. The large width of the cross body strap is nice with a heavier loaded bag (full water bottle). I appreciate that I was able to fit everything into this attractive bag versus the more utilitarian marine-type bag I would’ve normally lugged around.There are zippered pockets that secured my documents and the open pockets that could house my reusable shopping bag. The smaller flap pocket is working great for my chapstick and car keys; plus I love that the large flap secures everything with such a good clasp.It’s taken some adjusting on my part to change my habits with regard to my bag. However, this bag is now killing it. I expect the bag to live with me for a long time.I appreciate a bag that looks weathered, worn and loved…so this is the bag that delivers on that. If you desire a more manicured look, then choose a different bag.I recommend this to anyone needing a solid, substantial, non-fussy, rustic/hippy aesthetic type of multi-purpose bag, especially if you’re the sort that likes to see the life you lead gradually display itself on your partner/your bag.I’m happy and hope you will be too.
