A 5 STAR MUST READ BOOK/SERIES!!!!!!!
This is my very first book (TDLOD and DN considered together as one book here) by T.M. Frazier to read and I was blown away!! I've heard so much about this author and this series so I knew it would be amazing, but it exceeded my expectations by far! This is the prequel to the King series and although these 2 can be read as a standalone, once you read TDLOD and this novella, there's no way you won't be craving more and ready to move on to King!! This is the conclusion to Jake and Abby's story and my oh my was it intense!! Abby is on the run from the family services system that has failed her for many years and when sleeping in an old truck at a junk yard, she is discovered by Jake, who is no calm, tenderhearted man. Jake is forced to come back to his hometown and isn't happy about it, but things begin to shift for him after he meets Abby. These characters are strong, intense, dark, and have many secrets they are hiding. As feelings grow and secrets come to light, they have to figure out if they are strong enough and even willing to make their relationship work. There's no loss of drama, twists, hurt, lust, love, and super steaminess!!! I don't wanna spoil anything but just know that this is nothing like what you would expect...it is sooooo much more!!! Read this for an amazing experience you won't regret!! And just remember, this is only the beginning of the most awesome list of books ever!!

Brilliant read. Had me hooked.
Now this novella was fantastic. It was written beautifully and it was very entertaining. I was totally captivated. This is definitely not one to be read without reading The Dark Light of Day first. Though I wasn't a huge fan of parts of the TDLOD. Like I said in my review of TDLOD, I was preparing to read this series over, since it's been almost 4 years. I wanted to have a remembrance of the the series, in light of Nine coming out. But I'll tell you this book was short and oh so sweet. I'm so glad it was a continuation of TDLOD. There was no start, it just picked up where TDLOD finished off. Well done. Brilliant.

Step back into Coral Pines, the adventure continues...
Dark Needs is a bit of an extended epilogue for The Dark Light of Day and I am living for it. I loved the added bits to Jake and Abby’s story. Seeing what happened “after” for them. With a bit of backlash from a past problem Jake has to deal with not only finding himself in a serious situation but also with Abby’s tendency to retreat back into herself when everything for them hits the fan. This novella was a great add on to their story, a quick read and a fun way to start off the rest of the King series if you have not already read it. I am so glad I finally read these prequels! Highly recommend!-Mackenzie

Great bridge between series
Last month I was fortunate enough to meet the incredible author @t.m.frazier and talk books with her. I learned about her best-selling King series, but she recommended I read her novel The Dark Light of Day, which was a prequel to the series. This novella, Dark Needs, is considered a follow-up to TDLOD, but I felt it was more of a bridge, in that it took its readers from Abby and Jake and introduced the character of King...As I discovered in my first Frazier read, there is again graphic violence and strong sexual content, but there is also a sweet love story involved. Jake is by nobody's definition a Prince Charming, but his love for Abby and her daughter Georgia is so obviously apparent, that you'd walking nightmare becomes a big softie. Frazier has again won me over with her writing and characters, and I'm looking forward to diving into the King series very soon. Hope I see Jake and Abby make an appearance.

Fills in just a little bit more of Abby and Jake's story.
I started reading T.M Frazier's books as a member of a group of book reviewers called Sixty First Reads. The first T.M. Frazier book I had read as part of the group was called KING. That was followed by TYRANT and LAWLESS. At the end of LAWLESS there is reference to Jake and Abby who are the H/h in this book. I felt that I needed to read Jake and Abby's story in THE DARK LIGHT OF DAY before SOULLESS came out. After reading Dark Needs I realized that it wasn't necessary to complete my knowledge of these characters before reading SOULLESS. It just filled in more of their story.I really like Ms. Frazier's writing. The books are gritty and dark. The sex is hot. The characters are flawed yet have redeeming qualities as well. The hot, alpha men are bad guys but are so good to their women and are totally devoted to them. Scenes are described so well that you feel you are in them. The characters are well developed.I highly recommend reading the KING series.

5 DARKLY AWESOME STARS.
Oh wow. Dark Needs brings about more of Jake and Abby’s life.We get to see the law catch up with Jake and see exactly what the people in his life will do to help him out. We’re introduced to THE King is this beauty, I’ve been waiting for this moment, the moment Jake and King met.I can’t wait to see what more comes from these awesome guys.TM Frazier’s characters always instantly become my favourites. They all have that little something about them that makes you love them more than anyone. I haven’t read a TM Frazier book that I haven’t liked, they’ve all been simply amazing.

Jake and Abby are perfectly made for each other.
Dark Needs is a short little novella that gives the readers that were dying for more of Jake and Abby a small look into what's happening now in their lives. This takes place a year after the ending of The Dark Light of Day, and it was wonderful to see what's happening with them, how they've settled into life as a family. If you're reading T.M.'s books in order, this novella also introduces us to King, who gets his own set of books with King and Tyrant. In my case, I read the series out of order and read King's and Bear's books before I read Jake and Abby's so I had already met him, and actually reading their first interaction in this novella has left me a little confused on timeline and events, so I need to go back to King's books and refresh my memory. Darn, what a chore that will be! LOL.This novella is written mainly from Jake's POV and I always enjoy getting into the man's head to see what they're thinking. I enjoyed reading it and getting a little more insight into Jake and Abby.

A perfect companion novel to The Dark Light of Day
This has to be read after The Dark Light of Day by T M Frazier as it picks up straight from ending of TDLoD. This time it's Jake, the unapologetic but scarily hot killer whose pov takes the lead in this short novella. He is back from carrying out Abby's revenge on Owen Fletcher.... He enjoyed it but for the first time ever is worries about what someone will think of him. He's concerned at how Abby will react to the reality of him being a killer: literally seeing him with blood on his hands. Will she run for the hills and escape him or stay as he's the perfect companion to her broken soul?Well, they are light and darkness; innocent and dangerous, sweet and sickly all rolled into one together and are just meant to be but this idyllic life can't last forever for those two....The Fletchers aren't ones to forgive or forget easily, the atrocities Abby suffered are of no consequence to them, Owen is missing, presumed dead and someone has to pay.... This need for vengeance leads them to Jake facing up to life without Abby and Georgia, he never used to care whether he lived or died but now know he's got two reasons to live for and is willing to anything to stay with them... Will they get their HEA or will something dark reep its vengeance??I devoured this novella in one session and was left thoroughly satisfied. I just wish it was longer as I'm greedy for Abby and Jake, but left longing for more on King now.

Jake and Abby
This book picks up where Dark Light of Day finished. Jake and Abby hope it is all behind them, so they can start their life together. Only, there is more still to come.T.M. Frazier makes this novella seem a lot bigger than it actually is. Simply because she packs so much into it.I loved how this wrapped up their story, but also introduced King.

A great novella
You need to read book one before starting this. I loved this book. Loved finding out what happened in the aftermath of book one and the consequences of Jakes actions. Jake is his usual dark, hot, sexy self (i still love him) trying his hardest to give his family what they need. After avenging Abby, will they be able to move on? Jake is determined to make them stronger than ever but life has a way of throwing some bumps in along the way. I love Jake and Abby, i so desperately wanted them to get their hea and i devoured this in one go, racing to the end to see what happens. Definitely recommend but you MUST read The Dark Light of Day first.

Perfect follow on from first book
A great little novella (<100 pages) as a great companion novel to The Dark Light of Day. This book is kind of like 'what happens after the HEA.' It continues on straight from the last chapter (not epilogue) of the first book. It's written from Jake's POV so gives us a great insight into his thoughts and feelings. You must read the first book as this is a continuation not it's own book- however the first book is fab anyway :)Highly recommended.

Loved it!!!
Dark Needs is a follow on companion novella from Jakes POV to the Dark Light Of Day novel. It was well written and was a great ending to Jake and Abby's story, with a lead into King the next book in the series. I seem to have started with King however, read them in sequence until Rage then went back to the start with the Dark Light Of Day, but it hasn't spoiled my enjoyment of them.
