Lets you get the flash off camera cheaply without cables but some issues.
I have not tried all the possible combinations yet so wil only be able to report on what I have learned. I wanted a better way to run my flash off camera without cables which are nearly as bad as having the flash on the hotshoe. These cheap devices do that job though be aware, they do not support TTL operation of the flash. This has advantages and disadvantages, the disadvantage is you do need to think about exposure and if you want to do it right and have the time, I guess you would use a light meter to ensure you have the right flash power dialled in. The advantage in my view is the same thing, they make you think about exposure and you need to set your flash up manually. If you have the time ( ie you are not in a run and gun situation) you can experiment with placement, power and angle and get some really creative effects and nice lighting.I knew the above before I purchased so I am not criticising on this level. Where they are not so good is they are a bit temperamental. I cannot get mine to trigger consistently every time. Typically a first shot doesn't fire the device then a subsequent series works fine. If I pause say, to recompose or change settings the first shot doesn't work again. Not sure what the issue is but that is a drawback though you can learn to work around it. If you need 100% reliability, or TTL metering then look for something else but as a simple cheap way to get the flash away from the line of shooting they do a job.cheaply without cables

Excellent Value Remotes
I use remotes occasionally for my photography job (mainly during events and weddings) - I already have special remote for controlling a set of manual off camera flashes but I bought these to control a remote camera shutter. I can also use them as a backup flash remote control in a pinch too, which is great. The range is superb and they are reliable.I tend to go through these sort of remotes - they end up getting damaged and need replacing once every couple of years. So far though this one seems better built than the last ones I had (can't reminder who made them) and they don't need an odd size of battery - just AAAs at both ends.I like Neewer products - they are not OEM quality, but for the price are reasonably well built and eminently replaceable... they also seem to know what photographers actually want to do!

Definitely recommend for a trigger to Nikon to Bowen’s strobes
Lots of different options for connecting to devices.I bought this for a D800 to connect to Bowen’s strobes. The connection was a tiny bit loose on the fitting but it wasn’t a problem and it worked nicely. Not a missed misfire over 5 hours! Amazing. Great value. The actual two units, receiver and trigger are made very well. Definitely recommend. Fast postage.

AMAZING. Never misfired once
I have some Pocket Wizards (PW), which I have always found a bit testing, from programming them to misfires. I reluctantly bought these as a back up pair. I am a Fashion Photographer and done my first editorial shoot with them. AMAZING. Never misfired once, whereas my PW would have done. Also, sometimes I accidentally trigger the shutter twice in quick succession. My PW would expose the first shot and not fire the second. Today I did the same and it fired the studio flash twice!!! I would highly recommend these. Don't be put off by the name or price.

Only OK
These worked as expected and I never had any issues there. The problem is they just fell to pieces within a year, the hot shoe plate came off making them unusable. They also go through batteries pretty quickly and the switch that turns them on/off switches between flash and camera operations is really poor so it's easy to leave them on by mistake. The battery will then be dead the next time you want to use them. They are good for the price, when they're working they work well, but there seems to be manufacturing and quality issues. The battery life and finicky switch makes them frustrating to use.
