Japanese device
I said almost everything. All Japanese products are well made and I have all appreciations for this. The accuracy is good and I can use it for HF, 6m and 2m (that is really nice when you have an antenna switch).

Totally out of whack
I got this meter as recommended by a fellow enthusiast and based on my own research as the one I had seemed to be a bit sketchy and I couldn't rely on it alone.I hooked it up and immediately noticed that the FWD needle would not settle back to zero - instead, it climbed and climbed each time I keyed the radio - to combat this problem I had to use the classic airplane movie sequence of tapping the meter until it settled on zero - very frustrating. This meter travelled half-way round the world to get to me in it's rudimentary box without any thought in packing of a sensitive piece of measurement equipment.I was really depressed and wasn't going down the road of returns and re-ordering so I decided to hand it over to a friend who is an instrument technician. This meter was so out of whack that neither I or my friend could make sense of it.After replacing some components, fixing the tap-tap meter and calibrating it, the meter is "OK".I have since replaced this go-to meter with a Digital one which is spot-on and, out of the box and travelling half-way round the world.

Less labor intensive while operating quickly.
I like being able to see forward power and reflected power at the same time. Let's you know transmitter is working and alerts you if something is not right with antenna without having to push any buttons to check.
