Serengeti: The Eternal Beginning

This beautiful book portrays the Serengeti perfectly

This is one of the best book on African Animals. 280 full size color photos create deep feeling and bonding for animals and speaks a lot about silent animals. At least 8 to 10 pages assigned to Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Hippo, Rhino, Zebra, wild beast, Hyena and dears and they are shown hunting, eating, fighting and resting. Pictures of mother and baby lioness, elephant, cheetah kept my grand daughter so impressed that she viewed each page for 90 minutes and asked me to give as a present. I got this $35 book for $ 8 (including postage fee) but for me and my grand daughter it is a million dollar book .My promise is that, If you can not visit Serengeti physically, this book will take you there. My only suggestion is that, Book should have 11"X14" size with only photos on each page and 3 line description on bottom of each photo. OR intended written material should come in first part of the book with index photo and it's location in remaining second part that covers only large photos in each page to maintain flow of art of stunning photography. Excellent as was my trip with Orbridge. I love the book as it is a renewal of an excellent experience. I bought the book for my. Granddaughter to inspire to go some day.

Some pictures not all that clear, but overall very good

Having visited the Serengeti this book was terrific and really captured the landscapes and animals. Several pictures looked just like the ones we took. The text is well written and makes you actually want to read it. Recommended!!

WOnderful pictures and full of interesting facts.

Boyd's book is written in very understandable prose - a delight and a great read and photos to get ready for a trip to the Serengeti - for real or from your easy chair at home.

I have only skimmed through the book but it looks like something I will enjoy reading before I pass it on to my Granddaughter.

As a Photographer - Lecturer and someone who lived in Tanzania for many years and now organises Photo safari trips to Tanzania and Botswana as well as a collector of Safari Books this is a well illustrated and written by Boyd Norton who has captured the Magic of this wonderful land its well worth a read.
