Decent for some, but disaster for others
I purchased this product for my SO. I wouldn't describe either of us as an audiophile, but we definitely do appreciate sound quality.Ok, so before I list the cons, this product is just fine. Meh. Nothing spectacular. It is limited in its capabilities, but it is water resistant. I would recommend this product to individuals who simply want a speaker for the living room, kitchen, office, etc., and who would use it for personal use (not to entertain a party, for example). It is also user friendly. Very easy to connect via Bluetooth. Now to the real cons:1. Design: Unlike other products, the SHARKK MAKO is limited in its range due to its design. The only speakers emit from the front of the unit, it does not emit sound from the back. This makes it difficult to entertain groups in opened areas (i.e., pools, beaches, parks, etc.). Those who are positioned where the speakers point to can typically hear all sounds just fine. Those who are positioned to the back of the unit have extreme difficulty hearing the device in opened areas. In closed areas (e.g., living room), those who are positioned to the back will certainly still be able to hear the device, but sound volume will be compromised the further an individual is from it.2. Loudness: If you don't like loud music, then this might just be for you. However, if you enjoy cranking up the volume every now and then -OR- like to play music with groups (parties, gatherings, events) then I'd like to warn you that the SHARKK MAKO fails in comparison to other Bluetooth speakers in a similar price range. It can get loud, relatively, but again, when we've used this product during game nights, it just falls a little too short in quality, volume and range.3. Quality: The SHARKK MAKO has a comfortable little threshold in which it sounds beautifully; however, anything under or over that threshold begins to lose it's quality, especially if listening to rock, EDM, etc.Again, I don't believe that this unit will suffice for some, but I wanted to share my experience for those who intend or wish to use it for the purposes I originally hoped for.

Great little speaker poolside
This little speaker is great. Here are some thoughts on my first 4 hour run:Sound:-Impressive bass for little unit, this is very important to me as I needs the bass :-) Not up to the level of the larger JBL Extreme (my benchmark but also not waterproof) but very good and better compared to others of this size and price range (altec, jbl, fugoo, ue) not earth shaking but makes full sound.-Very loud treble-I need to play around more on types of music but handled most well with high quality sound-No problem hearing from all points of backyardBuild and design:-Feels great with rubberized surround and metal screens. Also stays put as rubber is on base as well.-Buttons light up (when heat of hand is sensed near) and feel good when pressed-Nice looking overall just cool little classic black box with sharkk logo on front-Overall weight is not light, while it makes it feel like is expensive it would make it a little heavy in backpack-I liked the grey velour pouch it comes with for storage or travel-Packaged in nice box which made a nice un-boxing experienceWaterproof:-Yup def is, I dunked it several times in the pool and it kept on rocking (after it blew out the water from the speakers)-Makes it nice not to worry about the kids around it, they even had fun "testing it"Battery:-After a full charge played at medium volume for ~4 hours show two dots left so that would make it hit its claim of 12 hrs of play which is great-Took about an hour to charge from two dots to full (three dots)Connections:-Comes with AC charger and USB cable, and Aux cable-Bluetooth worked easily although i did have some stuttering when moving my iphone farther away so i need to keep an eye on connection distance-Haven't tried SD card yet but cool option for worry free playing or if phone is deadOverall great speaker that I would recommend for wet areas with no worries and still maintaining great sound. I will update if anything changes after more use.

Sharkk Mako with an actual HARD CASE that FITS! =)
The sound is EXCELLENT. This is NOT the speaker for you IF you want tons of BOOMY (LOW) BASS, this is CLEAN & TIGHT BASS. The speaker sounds great with a complete Genre of music. (e.g. - Pop, Rock, Dance, Vocal, Trance, Metal, Folk, Hip Hop and R&B) One thing that has truly impressed me is the battery life. I listened to it for about 30min after not charging it for 3 days, then 4 days later it was still showing almost 100% charge! *WOW* The reason I wanted to not only write about my personal experience with this SOLID BUILT machine, is that it took me a few weeks and 2 different cases to find what REALLY does WORK/FIT it! Even with quite a few (NOT quite accurate dimensions) posted of various cases and this actual product, nothing quite "matched" or "lined up/worked".Today, Aug. 26, 2016, I got my 2nd Hard Case in the mail! This case *WORKS!* It is only being marketed "sold" for the Sharkk Commando (NOT the 20W Commando) and completely works for the Sharkk Mako. On every photo that I was sure to make clear for everyone to see, I posted the MODEL and the actual case name "Khanka Hard EVA Case", as well as its INSIDE DIMENSIONS and the OUTER DIMENSIONS of the Sharkk Mako. You will also clearly see just how tight (snug) it fits. While I have not and will *NEVER* try the speaker inside the case (as others have asked and want to know) how this speaker sounds inside it, I will tell you that I have NO IDEA and ask the person who wants to know how it sounds in the case, Why? The speaker sounds awesome as it is. Why would you ever want to cover up or "mute" the sound?
