I wish the copper copper came in the slightly aged/patina’d finish in the photos - what I received is very bright with no patina at all though I assume that will change with time. Only other complaint is that though I’ve install many sconces and fixtures before this one has a this adjustable bracket which at first I liked except when your wallbox ha the bolts horizontal the box side of the bracket interferes with the brass headed bolts that came with it so I had to cut them down a 1/4” with a dremel. Not a big deal if you’re handy but I could see it being an issue for the less capable diy’ers out there. Otherwise a nice looking fixture that once patina’d will look beautiful with most styles of architecture. Would be nicer with a big Edison style bulb. Also, for a front door the next size larger would look more proportional so I’ll be moving the small one to the back door area and replace this one with the medium or large.

Having read the earlier review I went back to the literature associated with these lights as I too thought they were solid copper. I have three of these on my home and am about to order a fourth. I live right on the ocean and so far every outdoor light I have installed has corroded in a few years. So these being solid copper was important to me. In any event, despite the description that sounds somewhat like these are copper plate over brass, they are in fact solid copper. You can verify this yourself via the progress lighting spec sheet here on the progress lighting web site. Here is the pertinent quote - "Copper (-14) is a natural finish over solid copper construction that ages to a patina finish". I love the look of these lights and they had already faded to a nice patina that matches the copper gutters and flashing on my house. I look forward to them getting some nice green on them in a few years.

This light is installed over my kitchen sink. Everyone who walks into the kitchen looks straight to the light fixture. It is striking.

Its really copper! I hope after time it will oxidize to a beautiful patina. Love it!

It's hard to distinguish between what is copper paint and what is real copper material. We bought these for an ocean cabin so the real copper was important to us. These are real and beautiful.
