BWTGourmet Mg 2+ Water Filter White (3+1 Pack) 814134

After years using Brita filtered water for my espresso machine basically to protect the machine boilers from contamination even though I am fortunate to live in a soft water area i read articles indicating that espresso would extract and taste better if there was certain amount of magnesium in the water. BWT filters introduce magnesium and I can confirm that the espresso is tasting more rounded than it did with the Brita filters.

The blurb says: “Fits Brita and other water filtration systemsThe BWT long-life cartridges fit the Brita water filtration system with Maxtra cartridges and many other cartridges from other manufacturers”Well I bought a Brita Maxtra jug specifically so I could use these cartridges. And guess what? They don’t fit. They fit into the space but cannot attach and just float to the top of the water. Maybe they fit older models but certainly not mine.

We have been using BWT filters for over a year and we have really hard and untasty water where we live and BWT filter definitely changes a lot. In our opinion filter goes more than 4 week. I always thought why they don't make refiling filter cartridge but I saw this week that they started to make it so it's even better and environmental friendly as you don't have to bin the filter cartridge.I recommend to everyone

Are these counterfeit? Or just a bad batch? They don't match the product image in appearance and certainly don't last the expected 4 weeks - water quality deteriorates quite rapidly. Disappointed. If these are real BWT products, they need to improve their QA process. If not, I'd rather pay a little more for something that performs as advertised - especially when it comes to health.

I used to love these filters, however I have just bought a new pack and the filtered water tastes decidedly salty, just like if you'd added a little table salt to the glass. They never used to taste like this. Salty coffee is not nice. I'm moving on to another brand.
