Great soldering iron!
Let me start by saying that I love this little soldering iron. Is it perfect? Of course not! But for $25 it comes very close and offers plenty of value for the price. The good:Nimble size! Light and very compact soldering iron compared to the 900 series tipped irons you a usually get at this price range. Since I do mostly small electronics work, this was a major selling point. The T12 tips included are great, and I've been using them heavily for three months with no issues whatsoever. They transfer heat well, and stay clean without issue! What more could you ask for? While I can't speak to temperature accuracy since I have no way to measure, the temperature settings are consistent so I know what to expect from each temp setting and that's just fine for what I'm doing. 350 works for soldering sensitive electronic components to pcb, and 400 is usually enough to do desoldering work with either wick or a pump. Occassionally some more intense and prolonged desoldering work using a wick requires setting it to 450 but that's pretty hot and requires a deft hand and skilled approach so I steer clear of using that setting unless necessary. Otherwise this beauty heats up in a matter of seconds and performs as expected.Minor issues of note:So here's a few minor points of contention I have with this iron. At this price they aren't worth docking a star over in my opinion but I feel they may be of interest to others. When doing a lot of back to back and fast paced soldering, the iron's shortcomings become noticeable. These shortcomings are specifically related to the fact that it is not temperature controlled so the unit does not actively work to keep tip temps constant. Usually, this isn't an issue for a hobbyist such as myself. But it it worth noting you plan on doing heavy volume soldering sessions as it may struggle to maintain a suitable temperature in such circumstances. Also, the cord attAched to the iron's handle doesn't swivel... Which can get pretty annoying. Again, at this price I don't feel these things deserve taking off a star and I am perfectly happy with this soldering iron purchase. In the future I may look into something with active temperature control and a sleep function, but for now I'm pleased as punch. Oh! Bonus wall hanger holes on the power unit keep it out the way. :)

Missing Parts
I know this is a good soldering station as we use them at work. However, mine shipped without any soldering tips. Just a empty handle...

A great portable bench iron.
Very nice portable iron! Well worth the money. I hope they restock this little gem. I have not checked the calibration on mine yet but it does seem to react to the varius preprogrammed temperature settings. At a programmed setting of 3 (350C), it works great on dip and SMD soldering. Bump it up to the higher setting of P4 and P5 and some higher mass things like large alligator clips and 16AWG wire can be tinned and soldered. Not so much on large objects that effectively act as heat sinks though. But that's more a fault of the low mass T12 soldering tip style. Then again, this iron is a bench iron for use on delicate electronics, not a heat generating behemoth necessary for soldering copper pipe or large stuff like coper plate and large gauge wire etc.One thing I like is the fact that I can press the button to run down to either a lower preprogrammed temp so I don't burn up my tips and then quickly go back up to effective soldering temps. This things a winner.

Amazing features for the price
Great portable soldering iron. I was looking for an extremely cheap soldering iton and the fact that this one is digital and heats up extremely fast made me have to buy it. It uses haako knock off tips that seem to work well and is very easy to use. I cant say anything on long term usage but I will update my review if needed

Good value, fast iron, but very inaccurate temperature.
AmazingThe pen handle is perfect with flexible silicon wire, the short tip is much more precise to use than long necks of other models. It is fast, very fast, ramps up from cold to 400 in 20 seconds and then when it reaches temperature it barely loses heat when you solder. Now one thing you should know if you need accurate temperature, you should spend more money on a T100 or wait for the T80 because this iron isn't well calibrated: it runs 10C hotter at 350C, 20C hotter at 400C and a whopping 50C hotter at 450C. I docked a star because of that : burned silk screen.Another thing to consider is the lack of rubber feet, the controller is so light that it'll fly off the table in no time so invest in some glue-on rubber feet that are heavy and large, then the unit will be stable. The plus and minus are reversed.

This works great for SMD PCB work
This works great for SMD PCB work. Very fast to heat up and react to loads. I like that the tip doesn't stick out too far from the handle so you have good control. Excellent deal. Gave it only 4 stars because the "stand" is garbage and mine only came with the conical tip.
