We have taken a standard, factory new, Herm Sprenger Chrome Plated martingale collar and removed the Ultra-Plus fastener plate and replaced it with an integrated all metal chrome side release buckle (quick-snap) held in place using latigo leather and chrome rivets. If you have difficulty opening and closing objects, our Slide Release Buckle Quick-Snap may be your solution. Instead of opening and closing the individual links of the collar, just unclip the Side Release Buckle and place the collar around your dogs neck and re-clip the Side Release Buckle. You will love the convenience. PLEASE REVIEW THE SIZE OF THIS COLLAR AND MEASURE YOUR DOG'S NECK BEFORE PURCHASING.

I wish I had bought this sooner
I wish I had used this earlier. My Cane Corso chases small wildlife, including birds, and is not a big fan of small dogs that are the preferred canines here on Sanibel. Before buying this product, I was told it was cruel. As a result I tried a lot of other products all of which resulted with Luca breaking from my grip or pulling me over. One fall resulted in me requiring major knee surgery. Poor and Stupid me. This collar keeps Luca at heel and my grandmother could now walk him safely. Don't listen to the hype that this product is cruel. I love it.

This collar's Pawmark Quick-Snap Buckle is dangerous!
On January 17, 2019 I ordered a 3.25mm Herm Sprenger Prong Collar with Pawmark Quick-Snap Buckle. Shipping was timely and shipping charges were appropriate. This is the second Herm Sprenger prong collar I have used for my Rottweiler and it has made a positive difference in handling her. The problem is the dangerous design of the Pawmark Quick-Snap. On the second day the recently purchased collar was used, the quick snap opened and released my dog in a large public park. I saw the collar and leash hit the ground before the dog knew she was loose and was able to get her safely back to the car without incident. I have used the same model prong collar for almost two years and am very familiar with how to correctly fasten the quick snap. The collar in question was purchased because the quick snap on the first collar fell completely apart, also releasing the dog. I do not know if the quick snap on the first collar was branded Pawmark. In neither incident was the dog misbehaving or being corrected. In my experience, the Pawmark Quick-Snap is both unreliable and unsafe.

I can walk my dogs without shame now!
Thank you to my neighbor that recommended this sprenger collar!!! Best money spent! Leather clasp makes it that much better, so easy to put on and take off, and it looks nice. I have two dogs, one pulls (17lb terrier mutt - small ordered) and one barks like a crazed maniac when another dog on leash is near (19lb poodle/dachsund/scottie mutt - medium ordered). I had to take several links out of both of them to fit right. I bought one for each dog and after about 2 or 3 walks, there was 90% improvement for both dogs. My puller can still pull a little and wheeze through it but nothing like before. My barker remains so much more calm, whines a little but keeps walking. My walks are so much more enjoyable now. I've had the collars for months now, they're used several times per day and they are still in near new condition, they are very high quality.

The combination of original HS with Pawmark upgrade made this one of the best prong collars
Initially, after reading and watching YouTube videos on prong collars, I bought a 2.25 at a pet shop near me. I tried it on my self to make sure I am not harming my 70 p 7 months old Lab. It was hard and not easy to place and remove the collar so I decided to shop for one with an easy opening and found this one. One I got this I realized few things. First pawmark has done an amazing job and makes this prong collar easy to place and remove with a very elegant and secure buckle. In addition by buying this collar you assure you get the original Herm Sprenger collar which is so different from the other one I have. Both are 2.25 mm but totally different, the HS is much softer on the skin with rounded edges compared to the cut straight edge of the cheap one and they are not the same size at all. The original HS is slightly shorter and narrower and the prongs that pinch the skin are in a different angle and less prominent when placed on the dog. My dog seems to be happier with this collar and if feels much easier to rotate it to the position I need but this could be due to small differences in circumference. I added photos with the Pawmark on the left. For my dog with 16.5 inch neck circumference I needed another link which I bough directly from Pawmark to assure I get the same original HS link. Last thing, the links of HS 2.25 mm is easier/softer so not sure that everyone would need the easy release buckle on Pawmark for the 2.25mm but I would, especially when I think that kids/long nails do need to use it. Last but not least, Pawmark was very acceptable when I needed their help.

This positive review is long overdue!!
I can confirm with confidence this collar has been worth every penny. I have a large Cane Corso who is an extreme puller. Walks are a challenge because she is reactive to other dogs and sometimes even people jogging or walking towards us (i never really know what could set her off and we live in a busy University neighborhood). She is a shelter dog who is highly protective of me, wary of others, and a little obstinate by nature.Last Winter we had extreme snow and ice, and, because I don’t let go of her leash, she successfully took me down on the ice way too many times. With patience and training she is much better on her walks, but still reactive. This collar and a stern NO when she starts pulling has helped SO MUCH!!!We previously used a harness that was recommended from the Shelter as “no pull” it absolutely didn’t work. With this collar you may need to adjust the prongs as they can bend and breakaway over time.. She can still pull with this but the difference has been amazing and I can relax a little on our walks. Before each use make sure the prongs are properly positioned and not bent. Check YouTube for helpful fitting/adjustment and training techniques with this collar. Use with caution to avoid damaging the dogs neck/ tracheae.
