looks great and does what it says it does
expands and holds strongly, very simple and easy to use, feels a tad pricey but I needed something fast and was hoping for something I wouldnt need to actually nail to the wall and this has exceeded my expectations

Good for a wide window
I was dismayed that the paperwork said it came with brackets because I wanted the tension installation. However, even though it came with screws, it did not come with the end caps that the paperwork said it would have. Happily, it does not seem to need those end caps. It works fine under just tension. Perhaps it would not if I had a heavy curtain on it, but what I have is fairly light, so it seems to work fine.

Much better than what I expected after reading the reviews!
This tension rod is much better than what I expected after reading the reviews! The reviews appeared to indicate a difficult installation, but if you take your time & twist (Don't pull the ends apart), it was literally perfect and EASY to install. Just be patient and twist for a few minutes instead of trying to hurry the process by pulling the two ends apart. We used the tension rod to create a hanging rod over the sink in our laundry room between the wall and cabinets. It serves as a drying anti-wrinkle rack. It keeps any hung clothes in front of a window (open when the air conditioning is off), and able to dramatically reduce the wrinkles. We previously used the top moulding around a nearby door frame, but the clothes constantly fell off with any breeze or with people moving past them. This was a much better solution and obviously looks more professional. I definitely would recommend.

It breaks after a few months
It was working until it stopped. Broken after a few month is no good!

It looks good and was easy to set
Ot looks good, strong enough and easy to set. Not as sturdy to the feel as I like. Seems a little light and cheap to the touch

Exactly what I needed
I got this to hang a short curtain in my window at work so it wouldn't damage the walls or need to use hardware. It worked perfectly, but I wish I had realized the ends of it don't come off and I had to alter the top of the curtain so it would go over the pieces on the ends. The bar does not separate in the middle, either.

Hard to install, easily damaged during installation - works ok afterwards
This rod is a beast - very hard to install! I followed the installation instructions and they're wrong! Following their advice, I snapped the end cap right off without applying much force (like another reviewer mentioned they did too). But I looked at alternatives and they were either too expensive or wouldn't work for the application I needed it for - room separators that had to fit in a relatively small archway and another in a hallway. I'm handy enough with DIY that I was able to make it work for me - with some extra effort. I had to glue the end back on and research online a better way to install it than the included instructions. I ended up installing it just like I always install closet clothes rods, shower curtains, etc. Place between the walls at a diagonal and then push the rod vertically up or down the wall until it fits into place. I didn't bother with compressing the spring by hand at all. I let the wall do that work as I slid the rod along it. Once it was snug I checked for straightness. Once again, I ignored typical hanging instructions of using a level. That only works if the floor and ceiling or the door or window frame are level. It looks much better to align with the nearest straight line(s) to the curtain. In my case, it was the top of the door frame and the floor in one spot; the ceiling and the floor in the other. To fine tune the alignment, I measured the distance from those reference points, lightly marked the right spot on the wall, and then used the butt of my hand to nudge the bar to the marked spot.
