This book is amazing. It is full of research based ideas to implent positive discipline in your educational setting. The key is to be kind and firm at the same time. It provides you with a big amount of tools which are well explained and supported by examples. The strategies work and are very respectful, leaving out punishment and rewards in order to focus instead in encouragement. These strategies help children develop many life skills and become responsible confident and capable problem solvers. This is my favourite positive discipline book for teachers and I love how the information is organised because it is easy to find it in the book and it makes the book easy to read. It is a fantastic book to read and have as a valuable reference to use when in need. If you follow the advice in this book you'll create a cooperative, friendly and supportive atmosphere in your classroom.

I just received my copies of the Positive Discipline Tools for Teachers, and I must say this is my new favorite Positive Discipline book! I love the format of describing the tool, giving real examples of its use, and then sharing the research that backs it up. It is easy to read for busy educators and provides a helpful script, moving the common sense idea to practical application.I can see myself and educators at my school using this as a handy reference to be read over and over. I've been reading many books on classroom management and unfortunately most have been only okay; they are usually overly simple and become dull and repetitive after the first couple chapters. This book is different, and it's depth becomes apparent within the first few pages. It is clear, insightful, and well written, and covers a wide variety of topics and strategies succinctly.

Enjoyed reading this. It has a lot of useful ideas and supports the suggestions with stories from teachers and research. The ideas are easy to implement.
