Know Your Chickens Paperback – January 1, 2012

There really isn't much to it. This is more of a booklet than a book. Note the dimensions and page count before buying. The one good thing I can say about it is it give a nice little summary of the origin of the breed but not much else. Classification? Weight? Egg color and expected production? There is space for this info so why the basics aren't here is puzzling. Also the book is from England so mostly breeds popular in the UK . Honestly there is much more complete information for free on the web. This might make a little gift for someone BRAND new to chicken keeping but of no use to me - returned.

Nice little book. It is little! It could give more information about laying and about the size of the chickens, but I do appreciate that the author gives at least some information on the temperament of almost all of the breeds he describes. This would be good to take with you when you go shopping for chicks and you don't know in advance what will be available. I actually really liked it and I'm glad I bought it.

this is a great little book for a quick overview of the different breeds of chicken in this world. nice, colorful pictures. really liked the info about the temperament on the different breeds. helps with finding the breed(s) you could be interested in, and then if you want more in depth, detailed info, you will need to get additional books/resources to further your research. this book is a great starting point.

Another great book by Jack Byard! This book is also smaller sized and packed full of great photos and information. It even has an awesome page with pictures and descriptions of the different comb types!

This is a small book, but it's informative, if you're interested in chickens at all. Our copy was donated to the local elementary school which has a farm attached to it.

I like this book on chickens because it tells about several kinds. I use it as a reference to the different kinds of chickens.

Excellent little book, I say little as I was quite surprised when I opened the package and saw the size of it. Inspite of this it is a well designed, informative book with good photographs and well deserving of a place on the chicken book shelf.
