Anybody with some sense who likes the NRPS has to get this album. VERY well recorded. The sound is next to perfect. Don't listen to the audiophile ear in the other review. This is a MUST have. I am so glad I have this one. They still play you know. With Buddy Cage, (a friend of mine) David Nelson, who can still jam the night away. Michael Falzarano on rhythm guitar who played with Hot Tuna for a while. He may still may play with Tuna on occasions when he is not on the road with NRPS. Michael is a funny guy who grew up just over the next town. Ronnie Penque on bass (look up I Tunes he has his own album) a very good bass player and songwriter. Last but not least is Johnny Markowski on drums. The Polish drummer! Very nice guy. They play their old stuff as well as their new stuff from the album "Where I come from" Very good tunes. Some written by Robert Hunter. All others by themselves, with maybe a few remakes of original artist. But NRPS does it the best.

I decided to replace my old cassette. As an old country rock fan I love reliving this music from the roots of country rock. Good albums, great band, quickly delivered to Australia at a good price. If you like this kind of music check out Michael Nesmith too.

New Riders are always a blast. These are a bit obscure but very very good. Love the live stuff. Got to be a fan though.

Best of the old days! Awesome Band!

This is a great package deal. I bought it for Home On The Road because it is a great live album by NRPS, and Brujo is a great album as well. Good stuff by a great band.

I remember many of these songs from growing up. Its a very mellow album.

BGO appear to be offering many bands that I like on this format as albums 1&2 are available along with 3&4 ( New Riders Of The Purple Sage / Powerglide  & Gypsy Cowboy / The Adventures Of Panama Red ), and here we have 5&6.For some reason this great country-rock band have never received the recognition they deserved in this country, especially for a band that have put out over 30 albums if you include compilations/anthologies and that's without including the re-issues and "twofers" like this!Anyway, here we have album 5, a pretty good live album, and number 6, an excellent studio recording. There are personnel changes between the two albums which isn't surprising as (I think) there have been over 30 people pass through this band over the years (including members of the Grateful Dead in their early days). This constant change in band members brings me on to the 12 page booklet which comes with the CD. The majority of the booklet is taken up with an essay by John Tobler (8 pages) where he tries to give a potted history of the band - I'd love to see a full family tree for NRPS as it would certainly be interesting (I've one of the Byrds which fills a full size poster!). The notes make for an interesting read.Packaging is a standard plastic box with a cardboard slip cover. If you enjoy country rock, then this CD provides you with a glimpse of the genre in its early days by one of the bands that got it near the start - enjoy. Oh those happy days in the 70s. My first songs I learnt on the guitar was Henry. What a great live song here. Buddy Cage at his best. Fantastic memories brought back through this great Cd.
