Good looking puzzle, moderately challenging. It comes in a light wood box which makes it a nice gift. However, the plexiglass window in my box arrived scratched, probably from the wooden pieces tumbling against it in shipping. Some pieces have very tiny tabs and require delicate handling, and the reference photo included is only about 3", so it isn't much help. However, the pieces fit together well and are such unique shapes that solving it is a fun challenge. I agree with the 13+ age range. The finished puzzle is attractive enough to display.

This puzzle was challenging and the end result is very rewarding. It is worth the effort. Plan is to frame and hang on the wall.

When immediately comparing the number of pieces this was expected to be far easier than a standard 1,000 piece puzzle. However, due to the varying shapes and designs, you were not always aware of what size and shape piece you were going to be looking for. So there was an added challenge to finishing the puzzle.Due to not being a jigsaw puzzle, the pieces had some flex to them, in that, you can expand and contract the puzzle somewhat, creating gaps in various places. This wasn't a problem, but something to be aware of due to the design of the puzzle.Overall, the puzzle was really neat to build and I am interested in getting more variations to try out.

This is a pretty & fun puzzle and the box it's contained within is very nice, but the coloring on the pieces had chipped off slightly on many of the pointy edges of the pieces.

Daughter loved this. Comes in nice wooden box.

Update: I contacted the company through Amazon and they sent me a new puzzle right away. This one had all the pieces. 5 stars!! I would have given this 5 stars but for the fact that I will never be able to finish due to missing piece or pieces. I really enjoyed the level of complexity but so disappointed in the unfinished work

Well made puzzle with nice attention to detail. Pieces had many whale tail interlocks instead of the regular knobs, which given the whale image was a nice touch. After completing it and flipping it over, you can also see a number of sea-based creatures and shapes that weren't as obvious when doing the puzzle. All in, a nice puzzle and decent value for the price.

It is as advertised—quite a few of the pieces were not fully separated, and when I tried to separate they sheared off. The pieces themselves are tiny, and the connection points are frustratingly small. I’m going to give it to a friend I want to annoy to complete next.

• Throughout my many years…don’t want to say that dreaded “senior word”… I along with many family members have enjoyed doing puzzles. Had gotten away from doing them for several years but when I saw this wood jigsaw puzzle it got my attention; not only for the nice picture but the intrigue of doing one that was not square or rectangle and did not have the standard loops, sockets, knob, holes, tabs, slots, locks etc that one associates with a puzzle piece. This puzzle was definitely one to challenge one’s mind and patience. Even to get started was a defiance of logic since there was not straight sided pieces to start the edges with like with regular puzzles (LOL). However was impressed with the overall quality of the wood material and the coloring of this puzzle. This was the first time I had attempted this type of irregular shaped puzzles and will admit it, this one took me a lot longer that I thought it would…a real brainteaser that had me up until 1am one night trying to get just a small section completed. I even swore that there must be missing piece!!! Even though this is only a 181 piece puzzle it took me 3 days to complete it. Believe me, it got easier along the way. Once finished I loved the total results and the overall quality of the puzzle itself to the point I am going to frame this one. (The one I got was marked as “Turquoise Leopard” but that is a misnomer. These are extremely stylized multi-colored animals depictions but if you want to be picky does not look like a leopard…more like another wildcat, maybe “bobcat”. However overall all still an attractive looking “ cat”. ) These type of puzzles are on the expensive side but well worth it. Already looking forward to doing more of these types of puzzles. Probably would be beneficial for individuals people that need to boost their memory and concentration abilities along with manual dexterity. Would make a wonderful gift and comes in an attractive wooden box. Warning: dogs seem to like the smell of these wood pieces…and that another reason I though pieces must be missing since we have a very inquisitive pack of 4 large dogs who always want to be involved in whatever we are doing.

It looks great and had a lot of people comment on it. Has many interesting shapes.

This ‘Iridescent Cetus’ (that’s Whale to you and I) puzzle is an absolute blast. While I wasn’t fully sold on the colouring book hippie mish-mash pattern, I’ll admit that it turned out to make the puzzle far more interesting and it looks lovely in person.Like the other wooden puzzles I’ve tried, this has amazing quality, but it doesn’t ‘stick’ together in the same way as traditional puzzles. For me the trade off is worth it because it does look stunning, thick and very durable, but it does make building it a little tricky. Having a puzzle board makes it go much easier.This is a fantastic puzzle for those who are bored of the same ‘cut’ pieces of puzzles and want some unique and cool pieces. It has a W piece in the design, which is super cool and many of the pieces have whale tails or sealife designs. The puzzle is actually quite difficult, but we enjoyed it so much we blew through it.The only small negatives are that it comes in a non-branded box (but the box is very nice with a transparent window and a little latch) and that the ‘picture’ is quite small and hard to see. I don’t mind as it adds to the challenge, but it really depends on you as a person.This design is definitely suitable to use as art, if you wish to glue it together. Just a really stunning and unique puzzle experience.

We are not big puzzle people as the kids usually find them too challenging or too easy. This wooden pharaoh cat puzzle intrigued all of us. We did work on it as a family sometimes and it was quite a bit of fun and very rewarding when a piece fit.Kinda cool to work with and the results are satisfying.
